So we basically got told the people who wrote what they did in "Fearless" we're completely right in doing so because you say they are; and we have no right to disagree with them or be angry about their views. People's views are tied to THEM. So when we disagree, we call them out by name. Not some cowardly corporate-spin company meatshield. Where I'm from, you take responsibility for your self.
Secondly, the Nex store prices aren't changing at all. That middle finger pushed a few more cancels. And if you want to spend $80 USD on a piece of metal that fits in your eye (that doesn't actually exist and costs more than a capital ship/my medical insurance) or some cool new boots so you can be the shique trendy coolguy that your friends get jealousover and spend their ridiculous wad of cash on NOTHING so they aren't left out of the loop LIKE IN REAL WORLD FASHION BABY.
****ing JOKE.

Originally by: CCP Zulu Hey all. To clarify this blog, its intent was to address two topics and two topics only;
1. What Fearless is and the nature of its content 2. The pricing strategy behind the NeX store
I do realize there are other concerns you have and those will be addressed, but doing it all at the same time would make the messaging tricky and muddled and not allow for a focused discussion. I understand a lot of the frustration going around but if we want to discuss then we need to do so in a constructive and focused manner.
Thanks, Arnar
You know how a part of this is to do with the atrocious state of communication from your company? You should do if you'd read or had at least a summary of what's been posted in the last day or two. But you're doing it again, you're compounding the problem.
If you only intended to address specific points, you did not make that in any way clear from what you posted.
And what you posted is frankly unbelievable, to the point of being insulting.

Count me among the disappointed. I would have liked to see a dev post by now that demonstrated that CCP actually understood the concerns being expressed in the forums even if there werenÆt answers yet.
CCP, try writing the following on your Twitter:
We understand you are concerned that Eve Online will become Pay To Win. We will be specifically addressing this very soon.
Also, if everyone could stop referring to $45 transactions as ômicroö transactions, I would be much happier.

I call bullsh!t.
I'll be more sincere and direct than you can be with me. You have lost my trust.
In 2005, I had chosen to believe in the little rebel Icelandic company of gamers that implied they were not only understanding but better than the big corporate developers whom for profit justified bleeding their player communities by charging extras for premium content and expansions.
That was the inspiration for the FAQ.
"Your subscription fee gives you unlimited access to the EVE Online servers, website, and customer support. Unlike console games where you are purchasing the game as-is, the development of EVE as a persistent world is ongoing with frequent updates to add new features and improve your gameplay experience. Subscriptions allow us to continue making EVE bigger and better as well as paying our staff their monthly wages. CCP does not charge extra for game expansions"
Now that you are a corporation, I am naive for believing in that message and for believing in you.
[Cy + blog] This song sums up my current feelings about NeX.

No more lies! No more not giving a frack about playerbase opinions! NO MORE SILENCE !!!!! IT IS NOT ABOUT THE FRACKING MONOCLE, CAN'T YOU READ?!
We THE PEOPLE demand:
1. MT containing vanity items ONLY. That is the most important issue and the one that causes most rage. We want you to tell us that you will NOT sell standings, skills, ammo, or uber ships via NEX store. Don't lie to us. Don't tell us that what Soundwave wrote in your internal newsletter is just his "personal opinion" and it doesn't matter, It's an opinion of a lead game designer and we want CCP to ASSURE US THAT THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN.
2. CQ to be an option to enter from the old hangar view a) because we aren't ALL here to play barbies in stations. b) because implementation sux technically (fried PCs, more load on some PCs than full-maxed Crisis 2, just read the forums) c) don't tell us it's our fault and lousy gear that you cannot code a 5by5 dark room which does not take 100% of gpu power on a modern machine. d) image of a door is not an acceptable option, just put old hangar view back in.
3. Assurance, that you WILL NOT introduce in-game obstacles just to sell us the option to remove them, like you did with saving of ship fittings. (move them to server, put limit of 50 fittings in place, get paid for increasing the limit? cunning). a) remove the one obstacle already introduced, give us option to keep unlimited number of fittings locally like it was before.
Meet above demands, and the playerbase will cool down. Don't act stupid and pretend that we rage about the price of monocle. That is the matter you want to explain to the media and the gaming industry, which are all laughing at you. We will simply not buy it.
If you don't plan to comply to the above, tell us now, so we can stop investing our time and money in your service.
TL;DR: 1. No to selling advantages. 2. Ship spinning back. 3. No to introducing obstacles to sell option to remove them.

Time to choose whether or not to continue to pay to be insulted.
Time to choose whether or not to continue to pay for glacial development of substantive content while superfluous proof-of-concept demonstrations are shoehorned into EVE from other MMOs.
Time to choose whether or not to continue to pay for the neglect of long standing balance issues and contempt for real community concerns. "I've never heard of you, either." |

How laughable. It starts off smug, and it stays smug. Ccp Zulu I bet you are "one of those guys" who would even consider wearing a thousand dollar pair of jeans. To quote lady spank, "pathetic". Just, pathetic. You say how bad it is for us to drag employees name through the mud, well guess who is next?
Furthermore, you claim they were just opinions, then you say that they were instructed to write an exagerated opinion to bring about discussion. What are you, drunk? Take a look in the reflection of your thousand dollar raw denim: what you will see is a clown.
Good job avoiding the issue. By doing so, you said all that needs to be said. Have fun with Sony.

What i would like to know is what does the future of MT in eve hold. Will MT be limited to vanity items only? If not, what are your plans for it in the future? If players who participate in MT have an unfair advantage i will loose my motivation to play. For me, stumping up money for MT whilst already paying for 3 accounts is too much.
To those having hardware problems: People complaining of broken hardware need to contact their hardware supplier or upgrade. No hardware pushed to it's limit should break. You have to expect that over time hardware requirements are going to increase and so will the burden on your hardware.

There are only two possible ways the blog could exclude an answer to this question:
1. They really don't get it because they lack the ability to read and comprehend the words on this forum 2. They intend to do this and just won't say so to avoid losing people and their money as long as possible, hoping that the anger will die down and people will accept it over time.
As much as a lot of you would love to say option 1, it's simply not plausible. These people are adults and they know how to read. They know exactly why we're mad, but refuse to change their course.
MT for in-game advantages are coming.
A sad day this is turning out to be.

First of all. THE HELL?
Lets look to 12 months ago. There is CCP Shadow saying there will not be any form of microtransactions in EVE. Not for vanity items, not for ubers, nothing. Then you start internally discussing microtransactions. Then you start debating it. Then you bring it in. The question remains unanswered.
Are CCP looking to sell gameplay related items (i.e. ubers) via this thing?
Because frankly THAT is the elephant in the room. It's the question you, CCP, have been avoiding for the past three days! We'd be happy to forgive Soundwave and the person inviting the Lead Designer of a game who's public policy is NO MT EVER to debate MT's in a document that is I am led to believe sat in your reception area where any visitor and/or guest can snag a copy as just being pants on head ******ed but you've got to answer that question. Your playerbase is leaning towards "Yes" and "within 6 months".
We've already caught you with your hands in the cookie jar, so out with it. How many of them have you eaten before we caught you?
Also, if I were wearing $1,000 jeans I would, firstly, be dribbling purple crayola eater levels of stupid and secondly I would anticipate them to be of a much higher quality than the standard fair, hand crafted by experts, designed to fit my every contour exactly as I'd specified. Made of Kevlar and impregnated with 24ct gold thread.
The same people who made the ingame ú30 skirt are the same that'll be making the ú5 ingame skirt, sat on the same chairs, drinking the same tasty beverage out of the same mug each time. They will have no appriciable increase (or decrease) in skill levels at creating such items between the creation of the two. The only real difference is they put in less effort. So your expecting me to pay for something where someone's been lazy?
Here's a hint that your logic is broken. I can buy a suit. A damn good walk in to a room and people go "fark me that's a dapper gent in a good suit" from Mos Bros for around ú200. It's real, it is tangiable, I own it and I can touch it. No matter how high the poly count on your 'Precision' skirt it is simply not real and thus worth very little by comparison and most certainly not worth the current ú20 asking price.
Also the fact that the only place in this game a female avatar can currently get a skirt is the MT shop is frankly very telling. No I've not found one in the character creator.

This is so unbelievably depressing. I'm a very casual player with 2 accounts, logging in sometimes only a few times a month to change skills and do a bit of mining. I keep paying my subscription because I have confidence that this game is still going to be worth playing in the future. I've had confidence in the direction the devs were taking things. I felt I could trust in the world that EVE had created. I trusted that the developers "got it" and cared about providing a quality sandbox experience for their players.
Incarna and the events that have followed it shook my confidence. I had hoped the silence of the past couple days was CCP coming up with a positive response to the many well-written pieces that player's have posted expressing their concerns.
Instead of a serious attempt to bolster confidence in the long term direction of EVE, we got some shockingly juvenile and condescending language like:
Quote: People have been shocked by the price range in the NeX store, but you should remember that we are talking about clothes. Look at the clothes you are currently wearing in real life....
Here he speaks down to us as if we are just too stupid to understand. As if this is all something about nothing and we just aren't bright enough to see the big picture. As if we've been waiting the last couple days for a "lesson".
Quote: ...We hope you enjoy them and are as passionate about them as you are of the current items that are for sale.
Here it feels like he is intentionally mocking how much your customers care about the direction of the game.
Quote: I hope Iæve addressed your concerns and cleared up a lot of the issues youære having.
I have the feeling that the author must be smirking here. He must know that he hasn't. Totally depressing.
How could EVE have turned out this way? Such a great game, such promise, yet such apparent determination by the devs to throw it all away.
After reading that blog post it feels like I have been urinated on.
My son is 8yrs old and he likes to watch me play. He was looking forward to the day when he'd be able to play. So was I. I had that much trust in EVE, based upon everything that had been built before that I'd promised him an account when he was old enough.
Now it even feels dirty to login and play at all.

I don't get the rage going on in here. Maybe someone can explain how anything changes with Aurum?
Currently in EvE, you can be a noob, get fresh into the game, buy a load of Plex, use them to buy a char, use them to buy your char a mom and all the shiny stuff to fit it. Will sure beat those other noobs in ther Impairors, dont' you think? If that is not power for $$$ already a reality in EvE and has been forever, then I don't know what is...

A long-term MMO like Eve is built on trust.
Why should I keep investing time, effort and money into this game to someday achieve great things if the game MIGHT NOT be worth playing in 6 months?
CCP has shown many times that its promises are meaningless.
The only thing now that you can do is DELIVER. Your words have no value and won't stop the exodus. The time to promise to never bring non-vanity MTs is gone, you can't even reiterate promise, but it doesn't matter because we don't trust you anymore, anyway.
Only your ACTIONS could change something.
Remove the Noble Exchange, give players back the PLEX's they have spent on Aurum and make all the Noble Store content free for everyone. Then, add a "Disembark Ship" button to make CQ OPTIONAL. If Incarna is good, players will use it, don't make us vomit it to your face by trying to force it down our throat.
That should be enough to stop the bleeding until the next time you **** because we all know you are too stubborn to do what the CSM tells you and to learn from your mistakes.
It takes years to build trust and just a few seconds to destroy it.
That devblog isn't addressing the elephant in the room.

What needs to be addressed is.... "Will Money Transfer ever(in the foreseeable future) be used for non-vanity items"? period. An answer to that question is needed. Adding in some ideas for what you think are acceptable RMT items for the AUR system would also help calm some people the hell down.
You're confusing metaphors. The 800lb gorilla metaphor, is in the context of this saying: "What can a 800lb gorilla do? - Anything it god damn wants to" (in the sense that noone can stop it - In computer talk, usually that's microsoft or google being talked about. On a gobal political scale, the United States).
You're probably thinking of the "elephant in the room" metaphor. That one is based on the saying "The elephant in the room noone talks about" (like a alchoholic uncle at a family picknick or the gay cuisin who recently attempted suicide) and I'm pretty sure everyone is talking about this particular elephant - micro transactions. So to sum up, your 800lb gorially analogy is wrong.
Other than that, that's a very reasonable and well thought out post, thank you.

You did not really address my main concern. I want to know what CCP's policy is going to be concerning MT? Will it be limited to vanity only? Why have you not answered this simple question? As a long time EVE customer I think you owe me an answer to the question. Players have a significant investment in time and money in your game. I would like to able to make an informed choice about continuing to invest my time and money in your game. Right now I have strong doubts if your vision of the future if EVE match my expectations. I will be clear and honest with you. I will not play this game if you intend to go down the aur for none vanity items. If you continue to avoid answering the question I can only assume you are being deceptive and do not want to be open and honest with your player base. As for Incarna, it is without a doubt the worst expansion I have ever seen and I have seen many. Zero new content that I am interested in. If you think it is a success there really is a disconnect between our expectations.
