I'm in that google doc.
My account is paid through April 01, 2012 (no joke, just when I happened to set it to yearly resubs about...oh...2005 or so).
When I went for the yearly account plan, I thought I'd never encounter a situation where I'd want to unsub. I rode out the 2006 t20 scandal...dont' remember any serious CCP shenanigans in '07-'09. Then last year, the '18 months' and so on, I rode that out. I thought 'yeah, it's bad, but they are still working on Eve, and maybe I'll get to see Incarna before 2020'.
Then, Tuesday came. I saw that Incarna is a MT vending machine, wrapped in poorly optimized (but very pretty) graphics. I listened to my poor average computer screaming, the fans going full-tilt, side-panel off. I turned off the CQ as, indeed, there's no new functionality pertaining to spaceships, which is the part of the universe-sim that I care about. Incidentally, it's a custom build computer, not some off-the-shelf vendor label.
Since Tuesday, CCP gave us first silence, than a low-level apology (CCP Pann) for their silence, but NOT for their mis-steps. Then we got senior producer CCM Zulu going 'I give no ****s if you are mad at us, and it's okay to price virtual goods at their real world counterpart's price points, and Incarna is awesome, why are you even doubting us when we say it?' and we got Fearless, in which a debate that should not even be taking place, takes place (incidentally, that 'debate' is a tactic to open up people's minds to the idea of MT on top of subscriptions, because yes, that's how fans should be treated, as wallets to be pulled from - also it's a very standard corporate strategy for communicating direction from on-high).
Lastly, I did not unsub because I hate Eve. I played in the beta, and then started subscribing in 2004 (RL issues kept me otherwise occupied between launch and joining). I have been with Eve through thick and thin, I've cheered CCP on, I've recruited RL friends to the game. I have never been a hater of EVE, and until Tuesday I was still firmly on CCP's side. Then, the wool got pulled from my eyes, and a cold wind blew through, and other metaphoric cliches happened, and goddamn but this smells a lot like 'greed is good?' is really 'Greed is good, OBEY.'
