my client say i can not play because off my graphic card is out of date which maybe it is and maybe it is not.
the main point is i was not told that we need the ms 3 graphic card to play eve as they did not give me any warning that i would new to up date my computer to play the game. ive been play for about 4 years now and i have never came a cross a game that demands you to go out and get a new graphic to play game that you have been playing a while.
currently i just do not have the money to go out and get a new computer or graphic card. im petty sure im not the only one like this. i want some thing done about it plase so i can play the game.

Welcome to the club...it was announced in devblog for over 6 months and most people didn't even care...so we are out of luck now...
If you can't afford a new graphics card, then unsubscribe for two months and use the saved money. A card capable of SM3 costs just about 30Ç/$.

Yeah many people are in that boat, but unfortunately there is nothing you can do.
To put things in perspective, you could go and read the general discussion forum why everyone is protesting and cancelling accounts anyway due to the microtransaction discussion...

There used to be 2 versions of the client.
CCP removed the "low-graphics-client" though.
Now that I think of it, how much work does it take, to support and maintain another client version that is all the same except crappy low-level (but fast) graphics?!
Well, CCP states, with its actions, loud and clear, your 15 bucks a month are not enuff.
You CCP, would have done well to provide a low-resource, low-graphics version of the client, less whining, less cancelling, and a better "game-experience" for everyone, even for CCP.
(Though I have a 1 year old desktop PC, even I would like to use it on my old and slow laptop, and you CCP, would have a lot more people able to play EVE)
Damn, you could have just added a ultra-low graphics setting that would do just that, but hey, you did not.
Bad choice, bad result, your choice, your consequence.

Just face it, when there is a chance to get even more money out of it, CCP does not stop for anyone.

Please note that although we are discontinuing support of Shader Model 2 we will not actively block those cards from running the client. It is therefore possible that players with that hardware will be able to run EVE for some time afterward. We do, however, urge them to update their graphics cards as soon as possible. source: http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=882
The blog says they weren't going to actively block the cards from running the client, yet, that is exactly what happened on 06/21/2011. No one with Shader 2 can launch the client. A warning to the player base would have been a nice, courteous thing to do.
That is the second time this year that CCP has changed the graphics in such a way as to make older machines completely unable to run the client. Incursion 1.1.0 (Jan 18, 2011?) required processors to run SSE2 commands. Again, no warning to the player base. We downloaded the patch, launched the client and discovered we couldn't play.
The economy (real world) absolutely sucks right now. Surely CCP can't expect all of their players to run out and buy new hardware when CCP decides to tweak the graphics. I've seen other players comment about how cheap it is to upgrade bits and pieces to computers but they don't consider the other player's budget. There are a lot of unemployed people right now. Judge not.
My point here is that CCP makes changes and thinks everyone will be able to just follow along and keep buying hardware. From my point of view, CCP lacks consideration of its player base.
CCP, you're fired. ----

other then laptops it shouldnt be hard to upgrade, unfortunatly the people with 2.0 is rather low, even my 2 year old laptop has the required shader version, the problem is though i cant run CQ at more then 15fps....... yet eve runs at 30fps
