What is this your first mmo?
Real money stores will naturally evolve to give real, in-game advantages because people will pay for them. If you are denying that you are living in a dreamworld.
Alright, have fun being unsubbed, while i enjoy all the cool new things theyre adding while they consider that for the next year.

Originally by: Ranger 1C The NEX system, when it comes to ships (paint jobs actually) or anything along that line is proposed to either generate a BPC, or failing that a finished item that also requires the additional cost of a "base" item to procure. In all ways either process included the EVE economy fully. The only items that "appear from thin air" will be clothing/personal accessories, and even those they hope to develop a player driven manufacturing process for.
Just keeping it real.
I must add
Quote: In short, itÆs the same in Incarna as elsewhere: we give players the means to buy stuff in addition to their base subscription, offering things like new ônano-paintsö that allow one to customize ships while docked; new articles of virtual clothing, tattoos, and other avatar customizations; tokens for customizing CaptainÆs Quarters and so on. Not all virtual purchases will focus on customization: some will simply be new items, ammunition, ships, etc. that can be purchased outright. The devil, as always, is in the details.
Yep, details like the disclaimer that evenews24 conveniently left out of the newsletter you just quoted that says in big bold letters "These articles do NOT represent CCP's policy on the matter".
Yes indeed, the devil IS in the details.

Originally by: WolfMarrell according to this http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1536495 there are over 3500 accounts no longer present on EvE.
Thats more than 52,000$ a month in lost profits.
But dont worry CCP, i'm sure your new microtransactions, and the awesome profits you expect will certainly out weigh the massive losses you've incurred as a result.
GJ, Congrats, and have a nice day.
Even better, after the :18months: debacle, roughly 100 posted that they were unsubbing. However, mmodata shows that the loss was 40,000 subscribers. Now, we're looking at 3500+ accounts gone from 1000+ people posting in the forums, including some of the most influential members of the community. How do you think that'll look when the numbers come out?

Yes, they do not represent CCPs policy, however they represent the current thinking of the people that make the policies.
I dont know how you can be so dim as to not understand that.

You do realize evenews24 isn't CCP? Of course it doesn't.
What it DOES represent is something that's ON THE TABLE, at CCP in Reykjavik which is entirely unacceptable.

"Sigh" evenews24 edited the document, cutting out pertinent details to help sensationalize their publication. They purposefully printed it out of context and misrepresented it as CCP thinking on their MT policy.

Actually it means exactly the opposite. Really, fellas, Google is your friend.

So, a document weighing the relative pros and cons of an idea (though in this case rather pro heavily) which is given to members of a company with a view to seeing the in company reaction to the ideas contained therein means that those ideas arent being considered.
You live in one crazy ass world.

evenews24 weren't the original publishers.. It was dumped onto SHC/FHC then evenews picked it up.
And even if they "edited it to change it" thats kind of what pdf's are supposed to protect against (Not that it's impossible to do) But then all it would take is a miniscule amount of one persons at ccp's time to post and say "No it's rubbish, Here's the real version and why it could be taken out of context"
The longer they stay silent only reaffirms peoples beliefs, that ccp is going back 'on their word' (I don't like putting it like that, but they have clearly said in the past it would not come to that, and this is very much the case according to said document)
It seem's like an awful lot of trouble for something that should be so easy to rebuke (That would be in their best business interest TO rebuke (and quickly I might add)).

Have fun with the next set of Fail-carna expansion. More stuff for the vendingmachine and useless eye-candy, but no content... unless you pay Aurum.

If you would like to say, showing CCP that you are more than willing to pay for the privelege of letting them try to milk you for all that you're worth, fine. I'm sure they'll make good use of your money in order to deliver the ultimate EVE experience .
It must be nice to be so wealthy that you have lost all sense of value, so blind that you don't believe things when they're put right in your face, and so emotionally dead that you don't care about being lied to. ________________
