Are there any plans for Eve mechanics to recognise coalition status.
Coalition POS settings would be nice and hanger use, but I know there will be changes there. Coalition use cyno beacons would be brilliant.
Coalition taxes from ally' from corp's from player ratting, is a good bottom up isk idea, for long term sov' occupation.
I can only see benefits to having a coalition skill set, on top of the corp and alliance systems we have already. Getting you on your feet.

Originally, alliances were considered the official body that ccp was recognizing because corps were banding together unofficially.
If 'coalitions' are recognized, then players will just form 'conglomerates' or something.

How about just adding option for alliance to become member of another alliance? That solves the problem. |

I am totally in accord with this thinking, a corporation consisting of a number of subsidiary companies or divisions in a variety of unrelated industries, usually as a result of merger or acquisition, could be a major advantage to eve online.
Implementing aggressive takeovers and mergers through the war-dec system and diplomacy could happen. And geography would be less of an issue to corp lvl cohesion, and more toward mutual benefits.
I see Incursions as conglomerative in nature. Getting you on your feet.

There has been a lot of talk with the CSM and CCP about creating "Treaties" (basically advanced contracts to cover standing, monthly/weekly/daily payments, sov transfer and renting etc etc).
This would cover coalition dealings without adding coalition into some unnecessary arbitrary officiality. |

That would be a very interesting option, the ramifications are incalculable for me, I think it would get people chatting.

The war-dec system is a little crazy.
Being in a nul-sec ally, we sometimes get a Jita ally or two throwing a war-dec our way, but it is of little consequence.
We are currently involved in a real sov war in nul-sec, but there is no reason to declare war as official, as it has no mutual benefit, though we did spill into low-sec whilst fighting and a few got shot by the gate guns in low-sec.
It would be nice to extend the hostilities all the way to Jita, but alas, it's easier just to gank targets, and go back to ratting. Getting you on your feet.
