I know, seriously! Let an actual qualified video game developer and creator of a successful MMO develop his game? Crazy!
You don't have to let him screw you. The door's right over there. ------------->
see that is where you are wrong. its not just his game. i have 8+ years invested. the actions he takes effects people. yes people can leave but maybe we dont want to leave. maybe we want eve to not be pay2win. pay2win is lame and against what eve is.

Hilmar and CCP simply ignore us and pretend its buisness as usual.
Of course they do.
You unsubbed.
Your a non-issue for them. A statistic for future use.
Mr Epeen
Most Sub cancellations at this point are a threat. A statement to CCP to show them in real concrete terms what the financial cost of continuing down the path they seem to have chosen.
CCP firmly steps off that path and those threats go away and the subscriptions are renewed. If they don't then we see who's bluffing.

Then I recommend you get yourself to a school with a degree in Game Design and start working on your own. I'm going to be frank with you. For as much as it sucks, and as frustrated as I am with the prices of the current MT, and the possibility of in-game MTs (though they've said there never were and are not any plans for that sort of thing), it's a video game. And they are the developers. For as much time as you've put into this game, it is still their game. It's their design philosophy, it's their time invested into the coding and operation of this game. It's THEIRS, and you were provided a license to use their game on their servers.
If you want complete control over how a game is made/runs/continues to be developed, I recommend you start working on your own.
Does that suck? Absolutely. Unfortunately, that's just the reality of the situation. You can voice your concerns and suggestions, but that's about it.

498,000 players HaH.. Please. Eve's numbers are artificially inflated because their mechanics force anyone that stays to have multiple accounts. A mechanic simply to deal make up for the loss they take from majority of 'gamers' that won't deal with asinine skill training times. They would be lucky to have 100,000 actual subscribers. You are right about one thing though, you don't matter. What matters to a company is profits. CCP wants this game to be profitable. What a surprise.. A company wants to be profitable! CCP will change it's model in order to reach its goals. People that think they will stick to MT for only cosmetic sales are naive. People that think that CSM are anything more than a useful PR tool for CCP (at this point) are delusional. Zulu preyed on that delusion to quell the uprising of players. That is the only reason you don't see anymore protesters. They still have faith.
As for SP being purchasable (which you can do now with character bazaar) You just cap accounts by how 'old' they are... You started your account 2 years ago that means you would have a max available skill point total of XXX if you would of continued your subscription. Therefore you will be able to purchase only up to the amount you could of had trained. You are not putting any 'new' accounts into the system that could not of already been there with that many SP. It lets 'old' players come back and able to at least catch up to be able to play with their friends. I know that's just horrible, they should of had to suffer with you staring at a count down timer for years on end. Boo Hoo. CCP gets more subscriptions and therefor much needed funds, you get more players to play with or blow up. Hopefully I'll be buying SP this time next year to make up for the mistakes I made in training. Then some friends will come back and buy some as well so we can actually do something together. Good times.. Good times..

The one thing I learned from this is that active forum posters spend 10 times ( ten! ) more than average players. So yeah...

The weekend is over and their alcohol-fueled outburst of holy rage has sputtered out now that the reality of the situation has sunk in, and they're back at work on Monday making money so they can buy their own monocles.

Oh yeah?? Then by all means explain this image plz For those that have enabled forum images:
This is the declining number of people who log in to Eve since 2006. (source)
according to the link you supplied, the explanation is that you are unable to read graphs. (hint 2006 is on the right side..)

They wont add $ = sp, because it goes against everything EVE is.
They will add golden scorpions, but WITHOUT better stats (as intended)
That's all well and good, but the fact is CCP have a history of making promises only to go back on them a little later when they think people have forgotten about it, if not outright lying and ignoring the playerbase.
As far as PR stunts goes, calling the CSM up to Iceland is a very cheap one. They're buying time... and little else, simply because their word isn't worth **** anymore.
Give it a year and you'll be able to buy sov in the cash shop.
But that's enough ranting from me, I've already voted with my wallet as per Hilmar's request. Such a pity I prepaid this account for half a year when I came back from a break.

Where the hell did you get 498k PAID, ACTIVE, PLAYING ACCOUNTS from?

ROFL!!!
Really guys - most of us were shocked, disappointed, etc, but we still love Eve, and most of us still love CCP - at least enough to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait until after this big "Summit" this weekend.

Naive.
You sir, have no idea. A few cargo class tickets to Iceland, and we're supposed to lay down? Absolutely not!!
We had the momentum, and in typical fashion, we dropped the ball. The game is in a serious situation right now.
Want to effect positive change? Write an op-ed for every single piece of gaming related media you can find. Free to print? Gotta be a better approach than pay to win, right?
General consensus among my core group - we will al leave, but not until the day of the "big patch". Right 'til the end, we'll play and complain. Day they roll that polished turd out, we're history and so is EvE.
Good luck guys, I'm doin all I can - and you should too.

Shame about this. But hey, there're greener pastures out there for us to discover. Guess we'll hafta see what happens with this CSM thing, but as I'm seeing it we're in the twilight of the vet-powered EVE. Such a damn shame.
They don't really deserve it, but good fight CCP.

Well if the did call CSMs to Iceland means they are trying to do SOMETHING.
Kinda doubt it will change anything, but Im still hoping. Sadly hope is ussualy just that - faith that things will change despite evidence ...
