Can anyone tell me if the originals leaked were in English or Icelandic? The reason I ask is I see some people are stuck on the way things were said which could very well be a translation issue. I would figure CCP internal communications would be in Icelandic much like any other company based in a country where English is not the native language. Now I could be wrong because companies who have employees from various locations around the world will use English communications it just seems odd to me that none of this is in Icelandic.

CCPs corp language is english as far as I know. Hence, all "official" internal communication (newsletters/fearless, mailing-lists etc.) would be in english.

Seeing as how this is an English game, and no one speaks Icelandic, I would imagine CCP's internal memos to be in English, also considering that many of their employees first language is English.

All of our global communications is in English, although you do hear a myriad of languages in the various offices, not just Icelandic. The original communications were in English.
Figured you'd like to hear it from someone in the know :D

Good dialogue on this so far perhaps we need to find this out because it does affect the credibility of the documents in question. Not saying they are not real but if they were in Icelandic it puts a whole new spin to things if they were translated and then leaked.

In Company communication leaked, shouldn't people be asking how that happened ? Or should I say you can bet CCP is asking that question.

The communications that were leaked, were no secret internal documents.
One was their corporate newsletter a type of publication that is widely circulated and while mainly addressing internal publics, also usually reaches external publics. (family & friends, business partners, aso.)
The newsletter has been confirmed to be authentic.
The other document was an internal mail, send from the CEO to ALL employees. While such a document is not meant for the public, with that wide a distribution its not unlikely to *leak*.
The email has not yet been confirmed as authentic. Still it very likely is due to several fact: CSM members as well as former CCP employees confirmed though, that content, form and style were typical for Hilmar. Also this email was allegedly leaked by the same source as the newsletter. Furthermore the e-mails content is in line with that of the newsletter and CCPs recent communication on the forums.

Edited by: chardeth on 27/06/2011 18:36:07 You know it does make you wonder though.
I find it hard to believe there hasn't been ones floating around that would have been a lot more interesting.
You know the ones that start off as;
So what you do think about if we did this, blah blah blah knowing EVE players would go insane. From there the next person adds to the list making it even worse.
You know the type of E-mails that go around, that are jokes (kind of) but more like internal venting and well the****utic.(therapy form of ) Wonder how fast those get killed and how come none of those got leaked ?

+ CCP didn't deny it was authentic so far... even though hardly anybody would have belived them if they would have.

I would assume that the employee leaking those documents, was following a clear anti-RMT agenda and not looking to burn down his place of work...
