Edited by: Chogon Toil on 27/06/2011 20:40:41 Personally the only thing I'm upset about over this past week is CCP's handling of the situation.
Bring the MTs. Bring the ships spawned from thin air (I don't think it'll hurt the in-game economy one bit) and let the new revenue fuel Dust 514 and WoD I'll buy a PS3 for Dust 514 and play WoD as well as EvE.
What would I like to see from all this? More transparency (I think we'd all like that). Better CCP > CSM > Players communication.
I'm not an economist nor do I have data to prove what I believe, but I can not think of any reason why implementing certain pay-2-win features would ruin EvE. So a guy buys a special Drake giving him a slightly better shield recharge rate (CCP would never put a Drake or anything in the game that was twice as good as other things, the benefits would be minor) so what? Like I've heard others say that guy just painted a MASSIVE target on his hull. As soon as his location was known players will swarm to blow him to nothing so they can get his kill on their board.
Let the scrubs buy their SP. Do you think someone that pays for 25mil SP will have a CLUE how to play the game? No. They'll undock in their shiny new AUR purchased Tengu and get blown to utter sh*t to the laughs of the bittervets. That fool that spent $$$ on his new character and Tengu will quit the game and that, my friends, is WHY we play, is it not? Because we are better than them and MTs will allow us to prove it.

The main problem as I see it is one single number that is wrong in 600000lines of poorly written code can provide a massive imbalance in the game of Eve Online; recent examples of this are: POS that shoot blues after release of new expansion. Hybrid Short Range Turrets that shoot for max damage across entire grid. Cynoing in SuperCapitals in a system that is Cyno Jammed. Alliance Warfare coming down to one hull type and who ever having the most of that type (currently Super capitals) being guaranteed to win exchange. Lag black screen on grid load up for up to 45 minutes. Pos modules that automatically offline themselves when a patch is released.
The list goes on and on and on... A real life rich alliance will test every new ship released that has a minor advantage according to CCP it will be tested and tested thoroughly. CCP are not good enough to ensure that minor advantages will actually be minor. They are also incredibly slow to react and change their coding flaws.
To ensure good fleet composition it makes sense to have every one in fleet in the same hull types. Over time alliances will get frustrated with members who can not maintain the required purchasing of specific ship types.

That idiot who brought the tengu then quits and never plays again. In the short term CCP get the same money as it would of taken to get the tengu with subs. But then because of the nature of how mt works the player has left so any profits ccp would make from the player having got the tengu via subs and years of work then continuing to play for years later has been lost.

I wish they would just put it in a devblog or something, all the devalt posts trick me.
I start reading and thinking its like an actual player, and my mind starts to be shaped and altered, and before you know it, someone says "whats wrong with p2w" and alarms go off.
Its somewhat disconcerting and uncomfortable all at the same time.
Before you know it ill be asking to do direct deposit in isk.
