We have made our point, CCP now know the playerbase arent happy and they know they need to act
They have called a meeting and Im sure they realise that this meeting has to iron out the issues raised and they need to be seen to act on the outcome of that meeting
They know thier business could hang on that meeting
So I feel we should wait to see the outcome of that meeting and then judge CCP by it's actions
Lets then judge them by what they do and not what they say |

You are right we already made our point. Thats why the CSM meeting is a complete sham. It's not like mittani and company will inform CCP about the players views any more then reading this forum would.
Yeah right CCP needs to "iron out the issues" with the volunteer pr department (aka csm). Give me a break. I'm tired of the constant bs.

well look at the facts
1. Incarna has been met by outrage by the playerbase 2. its caused a massive PR disaster for CCP 3. leaked emails and newsletters have come to light 4. ccp responded with poorly thought out blogs and have had to aplogise for firstly, hoping the outrage would die down, then again for a blog that was smug and was made out of "frustration" 5. The playerbase outrages and makes a post with over 1 million views and 11000 posts which are mostly negetive 6. They then have to spend monet flying Csm's into a meeting
If yor job depended on it and your business, wouldnt you now realise that you got it very wrong and need to build some bridges and put things right

Quite the opposite.
We need to remain loud until they solve the problem, because otherwise they'll learn that if they "go talk to the CSM" for a week we'll all get bored and go back to what we were doing.
They've never listened to the CSM on a substantial issue.
Why should we expect them to start now?
I'll shut up when they do something intelligent, like, say, making CQ optional, or promising that RMT will never move beyond vanity items.
I'm also annoyed that the RMT system they've chosen uses PLEX as the base, since this inflates the price of PLEX and therefore vanity items are impacting the game economy. If it costs 100 million more isk per month to maintain a cyno alt, that may not be game breaking, but it impacts the playing of the game and therefore impacts balance.
It would actually be better for AUR to be bought straight up with money, and simply have the currency itself be tradeable on the market.

I agree with the OP.
I'll be patient and wait for the results of this meeting.
Then we will know for sure if investing in EVE's future is a good idea.

Edited by: Boaz Hedion Merkava on 27/06/2011 21:58:22 Well, what choice do the players have but wait? None. Some will hang around on the forums more than they usually do -- also a lot of people found the forums, just look at the post that went from being a threadnought to a titanthread with over 1 million pageviews and at least a thousand srsbsns and laughhs if you care to reread some of it.
You can bet that the rage will be going through the roof if the outcome is not satisfactory and while this is pending you can't expect everyone to shut up about it, well you can, but it'll be useless because it won't happen, that's the status quo. So basically this thread is about "we should wait" which is already happening so no surprises there. I posted that meme because I simply got a bit trollerous from the "we should this", "we should that" comments. Feel free to join me, memes are fun, ponies too but I think that ponies are no longer allowed.

Edited by: diaufop on 27/06/2011 22:01:44 By this point, it's been made perfectly clear that listening to their customer base is the last thing on CCP's mind.
The only thing that changed the "very predictable feedback...ignore the noise...stay the course" train of thought was the mass unsubscribing and the widespread gaming media reporting of rioting players. Once they've managed to stop the haemorrhaging subscriptions, it'll be back to "very predictable feedback...ignore the noise...stay the course" once again.
I honestly wouldn't trust anything CCP says any more, not to the CSM on Thurs/Fri, and not to the customers directly. All we're likely to hear is more weasel-worded assurances at best, outright lies at worst. Even if CCP do publicly back down, get Incarna fixed, and say they're going to focus on Internet Spaceships, with absolutely "no plans" for pay-to-win, the whole thing will just start back up again in six months, a year, two years.
Considering that the "best" result from here is a delay of p2w by a couple years....

Let's see. If you're not unhappy with the game, why don't you leave it and give your stufz to someone? (Not me. I neither need nor want it.)
At this point I think that would be an appropriate set of actions for an obvious nimrod.

I just wish ccp would say what they are going to do about the issues raised by outraged players instead of doing this phony csm dog and pony show of a meeting.
Its not like Hilmar is anxiously waiting how the mittani analyzes this situation.
