"Every Item In Game is Made by Players"
Used to say that to people when I was telling them about EVE. It's a massive statement to make. People who are not familiar with EVE or even MMOs's seem to find that concept really cool...
PreEdit: I know there are a few exceptions at present (some LP items) but the essence of the statement is largely true.

Pathetic noob. Doesn't even know anything about EVE. You're no worthy monocle wearer.

Good argument. I like the examples you gave too.

Drops and rewards are also 'made' by players (they don't enter the game without IN GAME player effort).
A better example of an exception would be BPOs.
But the OP's core point is still valid. Moving the AUR market past VANITY items is a really poor idea.

Both yes and no in my opinion, personally i don't care if they would introduce lets say a ship BPC on there, if it's a unique ship people will suicide it like crazy if given opportunity anyway. The border never to be crossed is bypassing production times and/or build costs (materials) and adding items that are otherwise obtainable/sellable in game thus undermining the market.

'Every Item In Game is Made by Players' - how do we know it is true? (or was, anyhow). We see ships, raw materials and modules on the market. How can we know they are made by players and not seeded by selected CCP-alt traders in certain trade centers, thus tuning the market anyhow the company desires? I don't think there is a lot of seeding/dissapearing needed. Just a few percent of the total traded should be enough.
For PLEXes, I'm getting more sure by the moment that their supply isn't real (i.e. bought with RL money by players), either upwards or downwards. I don't think CCP would let such a thing to in-game market fluctuations.

You ******, you just quoted every damn MMORPG out there. Why is it that people here always have to show how much they "get it" by making an analogy that isn't even slightly "getting it"?

This is why they put in Aurum. The rest of your statement is just utter conspiracy crap. People are just reluctant to sell plex under 350mill anymore. Even the huge stockpiles that are flying around atm can't bring that down. Aurum should help get this price down to the absolute minimum actually, as ofc bigger volumes are being traded over a same period.
Also, it is my understanding that CCP would like plex prices to rise? Seeing as more people would then put plex into the game and give CCP more cash to work with...

It would make no financial sense for CCP to seed PLEXes into the market, they might as well give away playtime for free. It would make more sense for them to take PLEXes out of the market, but that would be easily traceable by players. null |

You are a moron.
High PLEX price = Hurts Real Money Trading sites. I hate PLEX, but hurting RMT sites is one its few actual virtues.

I'm not wearing a monocle as I can't play Eve on that meta-level, just the peasant normal sub level, but even I know, with my unaided vision, the station I'm living in at this time isn't player built.
Neither are rat loot drops.

well, OP is kinda right in a roundabout way.
Most of you noobs here were not playing the first day, week, months(s) of eve, and i can tell you , there was NOTHING out there. virtually nothing for sale, no market, no buyers, no sellers, a barren landscape.
log on and you would see less than 5k people at times.
So, for the past 8 years, people have been making, selling, producing stuff for the game, and now look at it, a fully developed economy.
