I'm wondering how many of the people with technical problems (but newer computers) use an ATI graphics card. I had one myself until last year and I had the feeling that CCP only develops and tests on nvidia cards. There were regular issues with EVE that only affected ATI users.
Like many other developers, btw. If anything in ANY game has problems with specific cards, it's ALWAYS with ATI cards. I'm pretty sure it's not ATI's fault but poor QA on the developers' side, but unfair as it may be, it made me switch to the industry leader nvidia. Ever since I've had zero compatibility problems with anything.

The incarna camera offset sucks for duel monitor setups, i use two monitors, and first off, offseting is opposite of the normal offset, when when i offset to the right, it moves the camera, and my point of persepctive (my ship) to the right, the perspective on my point of persepctive doesn't change, i don't see more of the side of my ship or anything, yet when i use the incarna camera, instead of offsetting both my camera, and my point of perspective, it merely offsets the camera, which cause my point of perspective to shift opposite the camera, so when i move the camera right, the avatar shifts to the left, and vice versa.
here are two photos i hope make my point. http://imageshack.us/g/189/20110629160939.jpg/ and when i do offset the incarna camera, the direction the avatar moves is not reflected by the camera, where instead of the camera facing the direction i am moving, it faces a little left ot right depending on how it is offset. can you please re adjust the incarna offset to properly reflect how the normal offset function works, because CQ is a pain in the ass when i got dual monitors set up.

You can't even fix the backbone of your game play. I can't believe I payed you incompetents for two years, but I'm doing so no more.

The cancel enter warp shortcut (ctrl+space) doesn't seem to work first time for me. I still get the entering warp message after I use the shortcut and I have to do it twice before it actually works and cancels the warp.

Applied the latest patch and had Eve client optimise graphics settings for performance. I must say that CQ runs quite smooth now. Run on a laptop with an Intel Core2Duo 2,16 GHz, 4 GB RAM and a nVidia 7950GTX graphicscard. FRAPS shows a framerate between 20 and 30 fps. Not spectacular, but not bad either. Cincerning the old hardware (4 years), shouldn't complain though.
On a sidenote, I'm getting a new rig. I was considering AMD graphics cards. But I am doutbing that decision as nvidia seems to be the preferred hardware to run Eve on...

Not sure if this belongs here if not they can move it.
We installed the latest patch on the 28th of june and have had ships missing from the pos with no explaintion. So far several t3's and expensive faction ships. We operate out of a pos in WH space all settings before the patch prevented rookies from accessing the SMA, after the patch settings were screwed and anyone could access the sma's. Api keys have been collected from player accounts that were logged in at the time in the corp, so far they show nothing. We suspect a bug in the security settings of pos management that allowed any player to access SMA's.

In a word, no.
I have an ATI Radeon HD4890 plugged into an ASUS M4A89GTD Pro USB3 Mobo, AMD Phenom II x4 965 CPU, and 4Gb of DDR3 RAM. I use Catalyst Control Center version 10.11 because every version of it from this one on has screwed things up in one way or another. I also rolled back my most recent PCIe bus drivers because they literally screwed my network card. I have no problems.
I have noticed an increase in system resources usage, which is easily explained by the more resource intensive CQ. Space ships online works as normal.

Not a single word from CCP about the numerous questions asked about what skills/scenario the ships are failing... BUT YEAH!!! the start-up animation is fixed!!!
What has happened to CCP, priorities are completely gone. (at least those that matter to the player base.)
So sad, seems every fix seems to be about how good the game LOOKS to new players and not to address the issues the established players are concerned about.

This happened to us as well (small POS in WH). If you rep the shields (Osprey for us) it will seem to reset back to the max you repped them at after DT. We let them build by themselves up to 85%, repped to 86% and let them build up to 90% before DT. The second day they were at back at 86% after DT and we repped to 100%. This morning they stayed at 100% after DT.
I've heard you can file a Petition and a GM will come out and rep your sheilds. Don't know if this is true, but can only assume so. Definitely need to fix this mechanic as seeing your sheilds at 50% and all guns full of ammo will scare the hell outta you.
[Edit] As a side note, I saw a thread from 07 about this issue, so it's definitely not a new one...

I found "104% read of 5388 KB" interesting..
For the Mac users: Your machines run Windows 7. You will run into less problems with programs an no one will try to lie to you anymore about security on the internet. They would even dual boot with OS X. And hey, EVE uses less resources if you run it under Windows.. More shiny, more pretty..

I was looking in the added notes at the bottom of the 1.0.1 list. Nothing in there about the high resource usage that causes the extreme heat issues. I run an Nvidia 9800 and was fine before Incarna. If I attempt to run anything Carbon now, I risk a BSoD after a little while, at best. CCP, many of your players will literally be forced from EVE by this issue. I can't see buying a new computer solely for the purpose of playing EVE. Learning... |

Well, one of the skills is long range targeting. Have 45km max range on a noctis... should be about 90km (or at least it was before incarna)... and re-logging doesn't fix it.

Are you ever going to fix the drones? Before Incarna they worked perfectly, but now after the update when a ship is destroyed and you have them engage another target half of them go "idle" while the other 2-3 are "fighting".

Originally by: Dirk Magnum Ship speed not reflecting actual ship speeds. I've noticed it randomly lock on certain random speeds and stay there, even in warp. It resets itself to zero after a gate jump, but then randomly freezes again once accelerating in the new system. But as far as I can tell, the ship is still moving at the speed it should be (i.e. 100% for 100%, warping at 75%, speed mod effects still applying) regardless of what the speedometer is reading.
^^This Also, if you live in a wormhole, you don't have the luxury of docking or gate jumps to reset it. I've tried swapping ships at a SMA to clear it, but the new ship loads up with all of the modules missing. Well, the modules are still there in the fitting screen. But all of the activation buttons F1-8 etc. are gone. Not offline, not unresponsive, but completely missing from the UI. And the frozen speedometer is still there. Maybe next time I will screenshot my mining barge with the speedometer pegged to 3253 m/s. Let the EFT warriors figure that one out

Something to note: Quadro's are not designed for gaming graphics. They're designed for building them, and other things. That's probably why you are experiencing issues.

troll As for all of you with skill issues... working as intended. MT will replace skillz. /troll
There isn't a problem with ATI cards persay. The problem exists in the southbridge, as this poster stated by rolling back his PCIe drivers. A bit of History:
1. NVIDIA and ATI both develop excellent cards. 2. NVIDIA and ATI realize that devices are becoming more integrated, i.e. NForce Chipsets. 3. NVIDIA Partners with AMD and Intel MB Manufacturers and offers the tools necessary to start integrating the NForce Chipsets into AMD snd Intel style motherboards starting with NForce 1(We are now at NForce 7), but doesnt offer the tools directly to Intel or AMD. It instead licenses them. 4. ATI diverges in that they don't have a southbridge chipset specifically tailored to run their cards, i.e there is no NForce chipset for ATI. Instead they focus on continuing to develop better cards, which they do for years. 5. AMD realizes they have faster and faster chips, but no solid integration system for graphics or sound, and in an effort to compete with Intel THEY BOUGHT OUT ATI. They tried to buy NVIDIA but NVIDIA refused.
IMHO, ATI still has no reliable southbridge driver, and it isn't like they can ask for specs from Intel since they are owned by Intel's competitor. Whilst they do have a southbridge driver it is included in the Catalyst software. As such it is Generic, in that it must be written to support every card and every motherboard, where as NVIDIA can tell you you have an NForce 6 style board so there is no need to tell someone to download a new southbridge driver that is greater than 6, while being able to update the graphics driver without affecting the southbridge.
In short, if you use NVIDIA GPU's buy a motherbord with an NForce Chipset. If you use ATI, follow the OP's advice and downgrade your Catalyst Control Software until you find a stable version of a southbridge driver that supports yor system, because the southbridge driver is more important than the Graphics driver.
Sorry if this post seems slanted torwards NVIDIA users, but I am one. I've tried both brands and after trying to replace a 4x AGP NVIDIA card in an older PC with an 8x/4x ATI Radeon 3650, and finding out it would only operate at 4x in safe mode, I'll never go back to ATI, since I bought an 8x/4x NVIDIA card and it actually operated at 4x. This just proves ATI cannot follow rules that AGP is always backwards compatible.

The new icons are causing problems from a day to day usage. Not everybody has young eyes. There is no contrast and therefore are hard to see/distinguish against a dark background. Also, there is going to be a problem with red colour blindness with Salvager 2's and so on.
Also, the decor in the Captains quarters are singularly unimpressive. It is dark, dreary, uncomfortable and singularly univiting. Obviously nobody in the world of Eve has heard of ergonomic chairs and interior decorators have obviously been outlawed.
Also, if I am going to be sitting down in front of a screen for long time, I want a Lazy-boy recliner chair, not some back breaking bench seat.
Light dimmers to for the lack of light ... I can go on with my criticisms if necessary.
