This is simple math really providing each of the account's quitting are paying with cash and not isk.
Quote: some 5,257 accounts are due to be cancelled in protest. An annual subscription in Eve Online costs Ç131, meaning the absconding players would represent a loss near $1 million
taken from this article http://www.develop-online.net/news/38124/Eve-Online-backlash-could-cost-CCP-1m
Not to mention CCP is already in financial trouble according to this post over at the escapist. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.297117-More-Trouble-for-EvE-Online-CCP-Debt
So what to you the players have to say? Could this be why ccp is heading to RMT transfers for in-game items? Or is it just "part" of there long term goals for DUST and EVE as they have been telling us?

Your argument would make perfect sense if it weren't for the fact that at least 95% of those screaming that they're quitting have no intention whatosever of leaving the game and are just having a little tantrum because they can't afford a monocle and they think it's terribly mean that CCP are trying to be profitable.

And providing any of them are actually quitting, which I doubt.
Follow the threads and you'll see plenty of them getting caught up in their own lies.
Go through the quit thread and laugh at the obvious BS.
Then come to your own conclusion.

Interesting to see that just under 80% vote "no" to microtransactions in that link.
There's another survey in this thread where 86% answer "no" to the question Are you for M-T if you can buy weapon/ammo/ships.

So a million dollars out of revenue will certainly be missed. Will EvE make it past this outrage, maybe, probably for a while. but if they keep treating their customer base in this fashion, I see nothing but the Game's ultimate demise.
Your statement as to Monocle affordability is moot here, I make a lot of money at what I do, so for me at least this was never the concern. I will tell you this however, I consider anyone who buys pixelated items to be either very stupid, or borderline r*e*t*a*r*d*e*d; especially when I can spend money on a million other alternatives, that are far more real, and with far more substance.

The Nex store is built so that pixelated items are paid for with pixelated money, and the skipping of many hours of grind is paid for with real money. Where is the "r*e*t*a*r*d" in that arrangement?

I could afford a new monocle every week and wouldn't upset my applecart in the least.
It's obvious that you don't know what you're talking about since the price of the monocle is the LEAST of the issues.
A company that has stonewalled and lied about it's intentions IS the issue.
They refuse to answer a most very basic question.
WILL THE NEX BE USED TO SELL GAME ALTERING GEAR.
All they had to do to avoid this was say "NO" and mean it.
They didn't. Instead they have sown the wind and now are reaping the whirlwind.
This is ALL self inflicted and those that don't care about it are more than welcome to stick around and take the shaft up the backdoor just like the little fanbois that they are.

I will consider the skipping of grinding as a valid point (even if I think it is an unbalancing mechanic for the game itself, and only made to line CCP's pocket in the end). What is r*e*t*a*r*d*e*d is for a player to buy an absolutely worthless vanity item like a monocle that adds absolutely d*i*c*k to gameplay. It is just an absolute waste of money.

no reason to peopel try to make apray defense of CCP stating 9% won 't wuite. CCP knows exaclty how many heave really unsubbed. An NO arguemtn from any side changes that number. And they already shown signs of being worried ( EMERGENCY meeting means that). So that means an unknown number of players between SOME and a CRAPTON have already unsubbede.

We have all moved to perpetuum.
I do have an account now with perpetuum-online, and another with Vendetta Online (both cost less than EvE). Perpettum is certainly different than Eve in a lot of ways, but I am actually enjoying the differences so far. Vendetta is similar to EvE in some ways and a lot different in others (will not go into it here so try it for yourself), and although not as advanced it seems to stand on its own merits. I would recommend these to anyone looking for alternatives.

Another interesting fact is that 95% of people who claim that 95% of quitters aren't leaving are douchebags.
Just because a small number of quitters are doing it for the lulz and will come right back doesn't mean that most of us will come back. There's a difference between *****ing about affording monocles and breaking the game as well, but I can see my words would be wasted on someone like you.
