If it was awesome, my old corp would still with all the people where there before they slowly quited to do something else. Plenty of other people just take a break that becomes a huge break that eventually they prefer to not pay again the sub. And if they do they play the game for 2 weeks max and then again the cycle of break...

Edited by: Pastor Blue on 30/06/2011 20:26:31 Edited by: Pastor Blue on 30/06/2011 20:25:46 I started playing EVE in Jan 2004 and was hooked immediately ... all I had then was a three day trial from a PC Zone magazine CD but it was enough to grip my attention. I remember the old corps like M0o, the first time I got podded (by a guy called Tank CEO in a Caracal in a place called Gare),old alliances like the original Curse Alliance, the Fountain Alliance etc, the shock of the disbandment of the CA and the formation of BoB ... the days when you logged on and there was an announcement to say the number of online players had reached 15,000 ... I dunno, CCP seemed so more ... friendly back then and close to us.
Over the past 7 years or so since that time, I have met some great pilots, most of whom have now disappeared. Space was a great place to be. There was a lot more honour back then. What do we have these days .. theft is positively encouraged, huge alliances control large portions of 0.0 making solo exploration considerably less fun/enticing ... and all the other strange things CCP have added in the patches many of which have been questionable, such as the removal of the possible bonus drop in the last room of Guristas Extravaganza ... etc ...
The old urge to go exploring has virtually died, for my part anyway. Where are the incentives? I'd like to see more epic arcs, deep space trails which lead you to amazing rare places, or what about getting to the EVE Gate (where I have journeyed three times and yes it's a different system to be in visually, but there is little point going other than possible kudos for saying "here woz I") but you get the possibility of ending up THROUGH the gate itself into another part of space (similar to Elite's random chance of ending up in witchspace with the Thargoids, for those who rmember that game) ... pvp fleet battles (lag battles I mean) are all very well but CCP need to offer a carrot to those who don't do the large fleet thing thanks to RL constraints on time.
Personally I hate the new currency thing, I can't see its value, and I don't like the CQ either. The game has become so repetitive over the years, I need the old excitement back but I fear it is almost gone, and currently both my accounts are set to discontinue. I am just not sure EVE has the spark any more and that's a shame, because I've played it so long and been there during the most memorable battles and moments but I am about ready to hang up my flying jacket and step out. I won't be paying real money for EVE any more and I ain't paying the stupid greedy PLEX prices either.
Fly safe all of you and take care, in EVE and out. o7

My only problem with Eve is that there is so much to do, I don't know what to do next.
Tell me again how broken it is...

EVE is still awesome... just a few tweaks needed and some sensible, non-hysterical decisions need to be made as they introduce incarna fully.

Its really not - at its most basic back in beta Eve was better than perpetum - can't believe they are charging a sub for that game

CCP could improve EVE and get them back. Although I don't think giving us a dressing room and the ability to pay ccp for clothes is what will do it. But my opinion doesn't matter.
