Cool bro', but actually you burn a large part of the money we give you in the development of a PS3 FPS and a Twilight-like MMO instead of EVE Online, for which we have unfinished and never-fixed features since 2 years ...

It'll also be instanced because by the looks of things, any more than half a dozen Incarna style avatars in one place would cause top of the line CPUs to melt:)
They can always ditch Eve onto some Dell server they have laying around and then free up some nodes.
Accept it, looking at black space just gets depressing, for ffs Eve doesn't have any spacial effects to brighten up space.
Just DULL black.
At least other Genre's have COLOUR.
Not true. What about those orangey-yellow nebulae that are the same colour as the now translucent capacitor readout, eh? Eh?

It clashes with my forum posting colour. So that doesn't count.

Thought that was fixed last patch?

Maybe people should extend the same courtesy to CCP.
I was about to suggest the very same thing :)

What IF... Everybody just stopping using PI completely, how would that affect dust?

What's wrong with running WoD side by side on the same server cluster as Eve?
It's cheaper. Resources can be moved around as need, rather than dedicated hardware for WoD. It could even be better for Eve. Surely they realize they'll need more power for WoD, but if they put whatever hardware upgrades into the same cluster as Eve, then that can be dedicated to Eve as needed, as well.
This is how hosting solutions such as Amazon EC2 and Hosting.com work. You don't get dedicated hardware. You're put on a cluster with others. ---- Only YOU can prevent idiotic posts! |

It isn't better though - it just has a wider variety of unfinished features and un-squished bugs.
So no feature was completed since then?

We don't know yet because we don't know how the whole dust/sov/pi system is going to work. We do know there will be more integration that just PI, we also know that eve will continue to work with or without dust and vice versa.

I fail to see how your retort is applicable to the debate at hand. I fail to see how it relates to any argument in all honesty.

I too have been wondering about what servers WoD is going to run on. Can't shake the feeling that Eve is going to End of Life status, or un-hooked from DUST and sold.
And if that happens, it would be nice if, with WoD and DUST running side by side, and likely having the same graphics engine, DUST players can totaly zerg those emo goth vamp wannabees via some database glitch but hey I can dream....
(I can see it now... "Hey, we gotta get that transport over to that planet we found a WoD server! If it's wearing eye shadow, male or female, shoot it!")
But overall it does feel like "the end" and it's not like I want it to be. I don't feel as much as need to keep an eye on the skill queue as before, and flying my ships is not as interesting as it used to be. It feels like having a new car and losing your job, so you get that "the repo man is going to take it away so why should I be excited?" feeling.

To all those that think Dust is 100% dependant on Eve, think again.
The connector can be mocked to provide the replacemnet of Eve Players, and indeed was most likely mocked during automated testing.
I am a developer, I do know what I am talking about.

It scales as well as the software architecture deployed onto it.
