Honestly showed how sad this community really is. I just got this game too and wanted to quit when I saw how pathetic alot of the community was and is. The games moving forward trying to attract new players. I cant wait for Dust. Deal with it or you could have some more virtual space riots if that helps you deal with the nerd rage lol.

May I borrow the OP's face? One of my mines collapsed and trapped some peasants down there. Steel bars then collapsed around my wine cellar and I need to use his razor sharp jawline to cut the steel so I can get back into the cellar.

Not really, it has damaged CCP's name. Which whether you accept it or not, is quite valuable to them.
Even though we're on the internet, CCP is in the real world.

That's what an active protest really is.
It's designed to cause an annoyance.
They targeted high population areas, which annoyed the anti-protesters making the anti-protesters add their voice to the protesters. Even though both parties had different agendas they put more pressure on CCP to try to sort it out. As well as gaining attention elsewhere adding even more pressure.

They dont care about diehards. They want new players. Every game company does this. Eve is now the one to do it. Protest isnt going to do anything. Lol Space Protest. One of the lamest things Ive ever seen. Anyways their rep hasnt been tarnished by anyone who hasnt played Eve before and thats who they want.

If I hadn't played a game before, and I heard they were charging $70 for monocles and a lot of players were unhappy.. Yeah, I wouldn't be trying out that game.

I always like how people care soo much about other people. 70 dollar monocles lol who cares. Let the morons buy their monocles. Maybe I just dont get it. Im open to being proven I dont know what im talking about but soo far it seems like the usual story of butthurt diehards who wasted too much time on Eve and now want to cry.

If players of another game are angry, are you inclined to play with them?
I don't care about the monocles either, but apparently you're not bright enough to put yourself in someone else's shoes for a moment and see it from a different point of view.

Edited by: BlkQueen on 30/06/2011 23:39:15 The OP is correct. CCP wants to attract new players. All these "protests" are doing is getting EVE's name out more than before. There is no bad press, and quite frankly, who cares what a bunch of diehard gamers want? They aren't going to make the game earn more money...new players will.
Deal with it.
PS: I've been playing since 06, I dont have a problem with what's happening in EVE. If it makes them a few more bucks, so be it, I'm not the one single-handedly paying thier bills so I'm not going to tell them what they should be doing.

The nerdrage accomplished something, as CCP felt the need to fly 8 people out to Reykjavik for an emergency meeting.

It just means more press. That's worth the price of the tickets.

Well, why shouldn't they have a mass protest? Its an effective way for a group of people to express their views on whatever is bothering them. A side effect of these things is, people like you come butthurt to the forums and call them nerds. More than a good reason to continue the protests imho.

I see. So it's the harmless assault on the statue that bothers you. Is it because it's one of the few, harmless ways to get a little attention, or don't you appreciate the pretty lights and performance art-like expression of disatisfaction?
