Are you trying to keep out the hackers or the players? Seriously!
I have a password (one that I can remember even) with surprising 24 letters in length. It is alphanummeric, but it has no caps in it. Because, let's be honest, a whopping 36^22 attempts at brute force for my password will take long enough for you to notice. So why on earth do you require me to update my password to have at least one upper case? Are you not willing to protect my account for the next 2 years? Because, let's be honest, 62^22 attempts might take that long..
I think you should reconsider. More security often means less security. Because people tend to write down the password and pin it on their computer if you demand too much. --- "Multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign for a diseased mind." -Terry Pratchett |

Really? You complain about adding a capital? I envy you, because your life must be very troublefree to be able (and willing) to worry about petty things like this.

Not CCP's fault if some idiot wants to write down their password.

24 letters long, yet the location of a capital has you stumped? And if someone is stupid enough to stick their passwords on their computer then they shouldn't be allowed on the internet.

Edited by: Mei Serine on 01/07/2011 14:26:00 Also, the entire point of adding symbols or numbers to a password is because most passwords don't require brute force, they only require a dictionary hack - which invariably is much faster.
This is why they make you do this stuff, so that dictionary hacks don't work because when they try "sausages" and your password is "sauSages" it is a fail.
In case you're wondering - there are just under approx. 180,000 different words in the English dictionary.
