Or will they disperse into other smaller player corps, as their membership gains SP and they talk more and more friends into joining? Its a question alot of people are asking. Personally I opted out of following sheep into that corp, and decided to make my own corp with some old friends from eve online. I think we can all agree though, that the beta non eve players are in for a serious shagging. Let the good times roll, and the mechs explode in glorious fireballs!

I'm in NEX, and have absolutely no connection with anyone in there. I say they splinter once people decide they're definitely staying.

I think the real question is whether this will happen to [WEST] or not.

They will probably disperse after a while, but having a character in NeX myself, it's at least good for the time being as it provides a focused learning experience.

Perpetuum did what EVE should've done years ago; anti-blob mechanics. Targeting is **** when everyone together tries it, and if enough people explode, the whole blob goes.
That, and the server catches on fire.

Interesting.
You are saying there is a game like eve but better, with anti-blob mechanics and gameplay that requires actual player skill?
If only someone would spread the word out to eve players.

As it stands, we're planning on holding together for as long as possible. Our first few PvP ops have generally ended in (hilarious and fun) disaster but as it stands we're going to wait for people to become competent with what we have before worrying about our long term survival chances.
At this point, I'd say call us back in three months and see.

I wouldn't call lagging out if 15 people show up an "anti-blob mechanic"

Interesting as Perpetuum can support 30k players online with no lag. With wsad movement, obsticles you cant shoot through, and terrain advantages.

With 800 people online and shooting stuff, they only hiit about 5% usage on their servers.
Also, NeX is a corp sheltering the largest congregation of out-of-place bittervets in someone elses sandbox. It contains the largest group of Liers, Scammers, Cheaters and just general scoundrels. Anyone who doesn't expect NeX to splinter severely after someone rips someone else off is asking to be the one getting ripped off.
Which is exactly the reason I'm sticking to my own corp with hand picked members for now. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

good point
Tho they are somehow there cause of common cause or pre-determination. Interesting things happens. Depend how deep is their connection real-life vs in-game character i would suggest.
Altho one thing, do you wish 60k subscribers in Perpetum any time soon. I dont, it would cause simple scenario : becoming true real cash flow business.

I don't program mmorpgs, but it's pretty obvious to me that server load doesn't scale linearly as number of players increases. It would be exponential because the number of interactions per player would increase with the population.

This.
NeX has been a blob from day one. When i first got accepted into it, the first thing i saw was a discussion about a guy who went with them to "rat" and said person stole the phat-lewt. He said corp leadership told him to take the loot.
He got kicked..
AND BY THE WAY. The **** is wrong with God? ____________

Ok, so after numerous topics on the subject and you replying to your alts on the topic, we get the general drift that you are a Perpetuum dev or connected to.
Will you kindly feck off and leave EVE to EVE players.
P.S. i'm sure Perpetuum is a reasonable game, its just incredibly offensive to attempt to openly poach players from another companies forums. I'm not aware of any other company that does this.
