Edited by: Kerppe Krulli on 02/07/2011 16:52:10 In the latest dev blog they use the phrase "game breaking" when describing items they are not going to sell. However, they do not define what is game breaking so we need to crystal clear definition of game breaking. Otherwise, what you view as game breaking and what they view as game breaking can be entire different things.
What exactly is defined as game breaking CCP?
Edit: and if game breaking is abstract give concrete examples of what could be game breaking and could not. Example: is selling an auto cannon with +10% damage a game breaking mechanic v. a POS doomsday weapon? Are both of these game breaking in CCP's view or only 1?

"It is CCPæs plan that the Noble Exchange (NeX store) will be used for the sale of vanity items only. There are no plans, and have been no plans, as per previous communication and CSM meetings, to introduce the sale of game breaking items or enhancements in the NeX store."
What part of VANITY ITEMS ONLY didn't you understand?

Reading the whole sentence does exactly what you want. --------------------------------------------

because the NeX store is clearly the only avenue you could use to deliver MT services...

Again, vanity scorpion that doesn't require trade in of regular scorpion = game breaking in many builder's books. Faction tower or painted tower sold that doesn't require trade in is another game breaker for many. By their own definition they don't want to break the game but CCP may not see the sale of these "regular, just painted but require no trade in of item" to be game breaking we can. So we should know what game breaking includes.

Don't be childish now, folks: CCP unequivocally said they won't introduce game-breaking items. Everybody knows what that means. And for potential gray areas, they've committed to sharing such plans with the CSM first.
Drop your pitchforks and go home, people; war's over, we won. :)

Required no effort. They are using a particular phrase that has a particular meaning without defining that phrase. Therefore, that phrase is the largest loophole in the entire statement as it 1) relates to future plans; 2) uses a term that is not defined in any way and can be defined in a number of ways that not all would remotely agree.
I wordsmith for my real job and this jumped right off the page as soon as I read it, this is where the future "disagreements" will occur.

IMO: Good news on first scan of release!
I do have 2 questions one of which is partially answered, the other hasn't been addressed.
1.) I know some form of ship spinning is coming back which is AWESOME! Can you give us a ballpark guess of when this might happen?
2.) CCP gonna return the love to EVE? What I mean is; are you guys gonna return some resources back to EVE in an effort to add more content other than vanity? Polishing up on things like POS changes and redesign of ships to name a few?
Thanks

Then complain WHEN they happen. This is all you are going to get at this time to satisfy you. If you feel the need to quit...then please do so. No amount of their convincing you will satisfy you at this point.
