As most of you know, CCP is not known for their customer care. Today was another day they could prove otherwise. As simple as it may seem, a reply to our problems (Not being able to login) would have been enough. But again they left their customers in the dark.
Therefor, i created this petition to get our voices heard (CNN?)I know some people will like it, others will not. But CCP is treating us like customers have no rights..CCP, we are not your friends, family etc we pay you so we do have certain rights. It is nice that the CSM is talking to CCP but it shouldn't have been needed. CCP knows what is good and what is wrong, but they also know most of us will not undertake anything except complain on forums. Thus a petition.
No flaming please (doubt that is possible) THE PETITION: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/ccpwtf/
"This petition is to show CCP that a lot of their customers are not satisfied by their services/game. On the forums, in meetings and pretty much any/everywhere there is too much talking going on and not enough action. CCP might post an apoligy about their behavior but that just doesn't cut it anymore.
With all the updates and fixes going on these days people are getting tired of CCP and their excuses. A simple fix could result in a few hours no game time. The problem these days is that we do not and cannot trust CCP anymore. They are making mistakes when it comes to:
-Fixes/updates -Communication -Future plans
It is nice that the CSM talks with CCP but it is still talk, and after the talks things still continue as usual.
It's time to step up, make your voice heard in this petition so CCP can see how many people are NOT satisfied."
PS: At least I am trying something

so yes when you think of the hysteria on the forums it's because they are upset... how many happy threads are there when CCP provide you a smooth server 23hours of every day? (with the exception of course with today's mishap) which BTW they did keep us informed while they looked for a solution.
To be honest I'd like to see you do a lot better Graphiso, Go on... make you're own game like eve and then people can **** and moan on your forums like whiny little *****es!

On another note... read the EULA and TOS.
I'm pretty sure they state they will do their best to insure a connection, but can not guarantee 24/7 access.
They were applying a hotfix patch to try and deal with some of the issues from incarna. and it backfired, at least they are trying. soo... STFU and go watch some more PRON!

Edited by: Valei Khurelem on 05/07/2011 15:05:32 There's a very simple way to get CCP to listen, stop giving them money, I've been toying with the idea of getting more PLEX for this game but I honestly can't be bothered, any other company that actually gave a damn would be blazing away with the patches fixing as much as they could and taking in new ideas, I do believe that CCP are using very much the same tactics SOE used with Pre-Cu SWG. The developers behind perpetuum online sound like a much better choice because of their work and business ethic alone.
I am glad they said they aren't doing micro-transactions and if they aren't continuing all the better, but this game is broken and I don't want to pay money for a broken game, as for the idiots who think it's somehow morally wrong to use the game time you have left to play the game you hate, **** off, I paid money for this game and I won't be able to get a refund for it, if you want to give me the 34.99 euro I used then I'll happily leave. However until my 42 days are up I'll happily sit here *****ing and attempting to play what bits of unbroken game I can.

I have nothing bad to say about CCP customer support on this issue, they handled it well, at least on my viewpoint.

The only 'right' you have is to stop being a customer.
Most people outside the MMO world think players are a bunch a losers. You, sir, only exacerbate the situation by pretending that you are a member of some oppressed minority that needs some sort of satisfaction for the price of a pizza (or three) that you pay a month.

As you read this please listen to this song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zK1mLIeXwsQ
i have a few things to say and first off i must say that some of you people need to stop complaining about the smallest things about CCP, do you do the same in real life? infront of your friends? if u got any that is.
Would you think it would be fair if everything you did got shot down by the guy you tried to make it work for? And really really tried? You gotta relax and stop embarrasing yourself, you wanted CCP not to add non vanity items and you got that, you wanted better communication and you should really give them some damn time, they have been through a rough time right now and if i know right they are doing what they can, they fixed what alot of you were whining about today and still that wasnt enough?
i see right now why CCP stopped their communication in the first place because this is so not going anywhere, your acting like kids, like your sitting with the cards here and have no respect of a company that gives you a game that you play regulary keeping the servers up and updates it all the time, try's to fix what bugs there are, and listens to the community.
Have you ever been on a date? do you have a girlfriend? have you ever talked to her being a good listener and instead of answering to what she says you do it in your head instead? CCP does NOT have to create a reply when they agree with one of you, yes we are paying customers and so am i, they dont have to tell you the server is down, you will find out that its down, when the server is down because of an update then i really DO think that CCP facepalms. You cant go through life without making mistakes, and if you think you can, then you gotta wake up seriously.
tl;dr(for reading impaired)
Give them a break on these times, and act like adults for once in your life.

It's over .
Those that care have probably moved on.
The early idealism of virtual realities isn't 100% lost but the pricing model that brings real world currency into the virtual realms is here to stay in all but what will be a few odd hold-outs . Part is due to a black market, but more is due to a strong customer demand (by a non insignificant fraction) that a for profit business would be silly to waste.
The idealists are a much tinier percentage There's anotherlarger group in the middle who are only against MT as realists to a degree that they might "go to far" . And there are a large perecentage that don't give it a thought unless it went incredibly too far.
I'm somewhere between the idealist and the realist camp.. closer to the idealist side perhaps except broad brush things like character or currency sales which would have less effect on game design that promotion of individual perks for $ (even if available also for game currency)
Bottom line though, is the practice of MT is widely accepted, and the more widely practiced it is, the more expected it is.
EVE isn't dying, unless they go too far or that tiny segment of idealists truly were material to drawing and retaining people to a niche game. Will a more mainstream group be more fickle ? probably.. but we already know that new comers are fickle but drawing more people is bound to retain more longer term even if they are retained at a bit lower precentage.
There ares still some incredibly idealist things about EVE.. and nothing will take away from the ground breaking they've done on a single shard universe...(and which still hasnt' been impitated much) , the economics are still unsurpassed (by a longshot above the norm)... no bind on contact etc.
Plenty of admirable things for those engrossed in the virtual reality thing... just a dissapointment in a focus for a chunk of the future game design efforts.

It's a game. We're not talking about a heart/lung machine that's keeping you alive... Nor an unsafe car driving down the highway. It's an entertaining diversion - no different than a novel or a movie.
About the only "right" we customers have is to choose whether we want to pay for the product that CCP is offering, or not. We don't have to play EVE.
If CCP loses enough customers it will have to make changes.
If CCP does not lose customers, there isn't much point in making changes.
