In light of Hilen Tukoss and his research team violating and fleeing their employee contracts with Zainou Biotech, an Ishukone Corporation partner and member of the State, and their hiring by Eifyr and Co., a registered Republic corporation, Lai Dai Infinity Systems is petitioning all State corporations to impose sancations against Eifyr and Co. and not participate in the Arek'Jaalan project.
All State loyal corporations and capsuleers should minimize their trade in and use of Eifyr and Co. products and avoid supporting the Arek'Jaalan project.
Capsuleers willing to support these sanctions, please indicate below. |

Hilen Tukoss and his research team undertook a very risky journey, laying their lives in the hands of capsuleers who could have turned around and destroyed that Freighter for their own profit and entertainment. They risked the wrath of Ishukone Watch, who attempted to kill him and his crew rather than allow him to be free. The Tribes are... sympathetic to those willing to strike out for freedom, and we safeguarded him and his crew to their destination.
These 'sanctions'... well, they will do nothing but hurt yourself, Nederland.
Eifyr and Co will roll their eyes at this little notion, especially considering just how far ahead they got with this deal and the rest of us aren't really going to care what you trade. The Arek'Jaalan project will similarily feel little to no impact of your 'sanctions', while the State's corporations might lose out on something that could very well benefit everyone across New Eden.
Hilen Tukoss and his team will have their freedom to research, and the Tribes will benefit from this. The only thing left for you to decide is whether or not you wish to lock yourself away from the benefits, or be a part of them. |

I don't think these actions are really necessary. Employees often run from their employers to others, it happens here and there. Of course, the fact that Eifyr and Co. belongs to hostile regime causes some concern, I don't think they are connected to minmatar military forces. In my opinion, he just run to make his research more efficient.
But should he possess real threat to the State, I will gladly help you with extraction or termination.
Unfortunately, I cannot help you at the moment without direct order from high command or confirmation of explicit threat to the State. We are stationed in Placid region, and the situation here is very tight: we are fighting against overwhelming hordes of gallentes and rogue elements, like pirates and traitors from I-RED. So just a runaway scientist is the least of our problems.

Quite so. I'll not derail this topic by giving my own thoughts on that particular matter.
As for the scientist, don't underestimate the loss. He and his entire staff were educated and invested in by the State. Now their knowledge and expertise will go to the Shakorites. |

The notion that all the work of Eifyr and Co. should be sanctioned, or that their employees should be killed and their assets destroyed on sight, is absurd.
I am quite confident that, should an employee of, say, CreoDron, take all his staff and materials with him and flee to, say, Lai Dai, and a Federation official ask to have Lai Dai sanctioned as a result, people in the State would roll their eyes and laught.
This notion is not just absurd, but entierly self-harming as well. Everyone else will be free to join in the Arek'Jaalan project and offer help and recieve benefits, except all of you who decide to react to this defection with hurt feelings and cries for blood and destruction.

Actually.. yes. If the scenario you describe included an armed standoff as was the case here, I'm sure it would have led to political tensions too. |

You'd think with the current resurgence of the sansha we'd be a little more cautious about welcoming this particular kind of scientist. I suppose the notion that Ishukone allowed him to escape because he was a liability, never crossed anyones mind here? Never ceases to amaze me how Extremely Myopic, some of the Matari people are. When this all blows up in our faces, I do hope the 'geniuses' who thought it was a good idea to bring him to the Republic will be held to account. |

For this to happen, it would require that Ishukone also sacrificed their own men and ships who attacked him on sight. Paranoia is all well and good, and I encourage it within anyone... but risks are well worth taking when the potential pay-off is equal or greater. In this case... it's far beyond the risk. Especially when research by people experienced with infomorph, biotech and implant technology can become vital in either defeating the Sansha (by attacking their implant network, or by giving us the means to free True Slaves) or in creating new and better infomorph technology which is most certainly going to be a boon for the future.
Besides... if he is some great devil and his research turns out to be horrifying...
Well... I'd prefer that it happened within reach of my autocannons than within the State, where we have no control of what it'd become. |

I have no doubt that this line will some day get printed into a Minmatar history book.
It will be a footnote in the chapter called: "When our brilliant acquisition backfired - WHO would have guessed?!!"
Remind me to act very surprised when this turns bad. I promise I won't gloat. |

Then it is just a corp theft. It can be interesting to find out how did he get his freighter: scientists are not paid that much to afford such big ships. Well, it is disturbing enough, but I would prefer to use him instead of ignoring him.
Anyway, there is still a solution with either of retrieving him back or destroying him. |

ISHUKONE-RAATA OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Please visit your user settings to re-enable images.
Ishukone-Raata is currently investigating the situation surrounding the defection of Hilen Tukoss from Zainou Biotech, an Ishukone subsidiary. While Dr. Tukoss is free to choose his own employer, and while Ishukone-Raata are pioneers of Cal-Matari detente, two elements of this incident give us cause for concern.
1) The accusation that Dr. Turkoss removed materiel and research that was not his legal property in his defection. This has not at this time been confirmed by Ishukone Corporation.
2) The destruction of an Ishukone Watch vessel by Republic Forces while the vessel was trying to recover this legal property. We deplore the loss of personnel aboard this craft.
As a legal subsidary of the Ishukone Corporation, we condemn these incidents and while we continue to seek a peaceful resolution to these events, through diplomatic means, our approaches have thusfar been rebuffed.
Thus, we will be adding our voices to the call for sanctions at this time until some resolution can be made that satisfies the losses to Ishukone.

Miz you appear to be a little confused, are you perhaps feeling out of your depth here? On one hand you seem to imply that a ruthless corporation like Ishukone wouldn't sacrifice some of it's own people. Quote: "...it would require that Ishukone also sacrificed their own men and ships who attacked him on sight..."
Then go on to contradict yourself in the next sentence. Quote: "...but risks are well worth taking when the potential pay-off is equal or greater."
You see the disparity here? You are quite happy to take risks with the lives of your fellow Matari by escorting this... person, into our space, and yet cannot seem to concieve Ishukone would ever play as fast and loose with the lives of their own people.
The absurd notion that this will lead to some breakthrough to defeat the Sansha is wishful thinking at best, after all he would appear to have more in common with Sansha Kuvakei then he does with us, I think he would be more likely to join Nation than defeat it.
Again turning what you said around let's examine another possibility shall we? Quote: "...biotech and implant technology can become vital in either defeating the Sansha (by attacking their implant network, or by giving us the means to free True Slaves)"
It is of course a sword with two edges, that same technology could also be a huge boon to the Sansha, especially as he's already begun to create his own little Sansha'esque network, all he'd then need to do is hand over the control of this network and no more Republic, a nice bloodless coup for Nation.
Quote: "I'd prefer that it happened within reach of my autocannons than within the State, where we have no control of what it'd become."
I do hope you don't have any Eifyr or Zainou implants in your skull, because when the time comes to fire those autocannons, you might find it somewhat difficult to do so. |

I must say I'm curious, Khali. If you have proof of these quite wild accusations, why don't you make them public? You seem to be swaying between all kinds of conspiracies here. Who's the bad guy trying to take us down here?
Sansha or Ishukone? Or maybe Zainou? Or is it Eifyr now? Or is Hilen Tukoss the newest boogieman?
Like I've said before, I endorse paranoia since in New Eden, someone is always after you, but this is quite ridiculous. |

Appalling!
If a corporation can't keep their own employees, the fault lies entirely with the management. Hilen Tukoss can work wherever he damn please, but I think it's very telling that he choose to come to the republic, rather to a different state corporation.

I confess having found a significant guilty pleasure in reading that... but moving on, this escapade has certainly made strange bedfellows.
A tinkerer working on ancients-inspired cybernetic technologies runs afoul of Caldari sensibilities and seeks refuge elsewhere. But rather than Amarr (way point for an earlier Caldari tinkerer), this visionary goes straight to the source of nubile test subjects. Points for efficiency!
In making that move, he finds himself darling to "freedom" fighters and traitor to an Ishukone subsidiary - which recently made waves with its own act of "changing sides" (apparently in a patriotic way).
If all of this hypocrisy leads to a greater understanding of ancient civilizations, well and good. I do wonder, however, if the gentleman has revealed anything of note; or, if the most immediate result is simply an increase in the population of servile prison inmates.
