it should come in handy... actually it will probably only come in handy in 1 out of every 1000 situations. I'm honestly just glad i can focus on weapons now.

Yeah, I am staring at Multitasking 4 and 5 for that damn cert and not looking forward to spending that much time on nearly useless skills.

You only need it to III, and as it happens, III is also what gives you ten targets, which comes in handy in logis (and Marauders, should you be into that). ùùù ôWe want to try this thing called micro-transactions, but we don't know what it is. Can anyone explainà aw screw it, let's just do it! What could go wrong?ö ù ÇÇP |

I feel like core competency elite, is actually one of the certs that is true to nature for all around will be usefulness. And who doesn't like having perfect fitting skills?

Never considered Multitasking to be useful so far. But having it to 3 now... it's just epic and was worth waiting for Targeting V. Tracking 10 targets makes salvaging in a Noctis even faster which I wouldn't like to miss anymore.

Well you don't necessarily have perfect fitting skills when you get core competency elite. fyi - you do not need shield upgrades 5 for the certificate.

only ship that can actually be useful for multitasking is a noctis, with its max targets of 10, every other ship can just make due with targeting for to lvl 5 with 7

Marauders, Logistics ships, and Carriers in Triage all have 10 maxed locked targets. In addition, a few ships have spare high slots that can easily take a auto targeting system, boosting the max locked targets by 2 or 3.
Multitasking V is silly. Multitasking III is necessary for certain ships. Edit: Beat to it. :(

If you've got Targeting V just get Multitasking as well. The additional costs and training time till level 3 is neglectable and considering you just obtained the far longer skill level (Targeting IV to Targeting V) not getting Multitasking (even if just for one or two ships) sounds like a lost opportunity.

If you have spare low slots you can use Signal Amplifier II's to add more locked targets as well.

Multitasking [5] can have value for the Noctis in particular, for Marauders and to a lesser degree (due to fitting constraints) for Logistics ships due to the passive bonus of Auto targetting systems and Sig Amp IIs. For the Noctis it means that you can run 6 tractors, tractor 6 wrecks while your salvagers are working on the six previously tractored. For Marauders and logistics the extra targets are a bonus rather than anything else, the increase in coverage is not vital in most cases, and almost never as valuable as the slot sacrificed. One place that coverage could be valuable though would be the Triage Carrier - though it's not something I've yet experimented with. --

Err, they are NOT an extra bonus for Logistics. Logistics can lock 10 targets without any extra modules, and logistics pilots without Multitasking III just fail hard. They are absolutely vital to manage repping in any decent gang vs gang fight. |
