Edited by: Tom Gerard on 17/07/2011 12:58:56 So... a few mmo sites are now describing EVE as perpetuum-like.
Seriously pretty sure EVE came first, I don't mind players ripping on CCP for better gameplay. But when big corporations conspire to kill the game I get worried.
CCP needs to do something about the corporate sabotage on these sites.

Everybody knows Alots like Perpetuum in space, no need to make a thread about it. --------

Why? It's just free advertising, anyone who likes Perpetuum who sees that description is a potential new EVE subscriber.

Although we can't know for sure - I wonder what dirty tricks have been played against CCP over the last few months. I suspect a few chars on these forums as active agents for competing MMOs. Repeatedly inciting hatred whilst advocating certain other **** games.
I'm not sure what the law says about a deliberate campaign to discredit or undermine the competition in this manner. The Union of the Snake [SNAKE]

No. Just no. It's bad enough we have to listen to the fat self-pity-partiers calling anyone who disagrees with them a dev alt without this.

Just when you think hyper-paranoid Eve players have every conspiracy theory covered, they manage to dream up a new, exciting one!

Husband of a friend of mine did this kind of work for Blizzard prior to and just after Rifts came out. It is, like EVE, real.

There is a difference between making a valid complaint about service and standards - and repeatedly making groundless, inaccurate posts (which you bump on a daily basis) whilst at the same time promoting a rival MMO in every other post. It has happened here repeatedly whether you care to accept it or not.
Sorry if that freaks you out. I think it would be naive to believe it doesn't happen to some degree or other. The Union of the Snake [SNAKE]

Tin foil hat is so yesterday. What you should have said to make yourself look smart was something to the effect of:
'dumb conspiracy theories are dumb'.... I think that's how the kids are doing it the days.

The truth being said, CCP's Moderators should be more harsh with this forum.
In Perpetuum mentioning the game isn't growing enough delivers a thread lock. Here anyone can propagandize other MMOs, defame, spread false rumors, threat and / or lie without any consequence (not even a thread lock).

Perpetuum seems like it must have came first, considering how much better GAMEPLAY it has.
Why perpetuums gameplay is better:
1)No macros/bots/plex -
yes the game is actually competitive unlike eve. Macroing is almost impossible in perptuum because you need to scan down each spot you mine, not sure why eve makes botting asteriods so easy that any script kiddy can make a bot for it.
2)Obsticles you cant shoot through and line of sight.
3) No local chat/instant intel
4) Much better gate mechanics (harder to get caught in a camp)
5) Every module you equip adds weight that slows down your mech. (More strategy in fittings)
6) Anti-blob mechanics. - Yes its actually better to form squads of small groups or be spread out, unlike eve where where blob is king.

why haven't they banned you yet. You and your ****ing alts spewing the crap about how much better your clone is just pathetic.
Your constant attempts to advertise this game via the eve forums actually ****es me off for some reason (and i love the trolls). Even if your game was worth playing I couldn't stand giving my money to such a pathetic company. -------------------------------------------------

Never played Perpetuum but feel that any game that wants to compete seriously with EVE has a lot of work ahead. Videos I saw were crappy.
That said, I welcome ANY AND ALL good solid competition if it makes CCP work harder for us!
I hope it also prevents them from abandoning the space MMO genre for ~console fps~ and the ~emo vampire crowd~

Just about the first thing I did was to go off exploring, then I got lost, then I cried. Cant recall where I am at the moment but Alpha 1 is over to the southeast somewhere. Still takes waaay too long to find something to mine. The time invested isn't worth the return.
