1. caldari is one of the weakest race in eve and you want to nerf them even more? drake is not overpowered - swarm of drakes are, but why the hell small scale pvp must be nerfed so badly because of the swarms of drakes. Do something about blobs, nerf them, but leave caldari as it is.
2. nerfing hurricane is even worst idea then nerfing caldari. what do you want? to every ship be the same? dont drink so much ccp - and this is all what i can say for about 5 or 6 years of playing eve.
3. remove warp core stabilizers - this is what we realy need, not ******* t1 logistic. nerf blobs, boost small scale pvp, make target braker to work, do not nerf hisec industralist, boost pirates, give them missions on hisec, stop DRINKING!

ccp should listen people like me not noobs like you miss lori hakoke. eve is dying because of such stupid game changes - dont belive?
last patch just kill fraction war pvp and give oportunity to cheat and earn mass of lp`s - because ccp knows better. they know notheing - in fact they cant even pvp propertly and they destroing this game because of their incopetence, and because they listen to noobs like you ms. lori.
they boost t1 cruisers - sily... now we have rifters on stabs in fw space. this is pvp. yep and we will have cruisers!!! in fw space on stabs. long time ago this game was niece, today it is piece of sheet, because of "game balance"

Stopped reading there.
With that said, I dont see the need to nerf heavy missiles as a whole instead of fixing the drake itself. Or at least not nerfing them with 25% damage and 20% range nerfs. That's ridiculous.
Oh well thats what you get for choosing caldari scum as your race |

I too was thinking a 20% nerf on dps would be a little over the top, however I doubt it's THAT bad... I did shortly forget heavy missiles would be a long range weapon with HAMs supposedly the best platform within 15-20km.

TD applied to missiles? Justified. Reduced Range of HMs? Justified. Damage nerf to HMs? Probably not.
I think they've been far too hasty with the proposed changes. Better to make a small nerf and have to nerf more later than to nerf too hard to begin.
Also, why nerf heavies at all? Its only drakes and Tengus that are OP anyway. All the other heavy missile platforms are pretty much crap.
I say, nerf drakes and Tengus and leave the heavies alone. |

Except we have a major problem.
For mission runners the tengu is pretty much the missile boat the takes the cake.
There's no point in training a higher missile size. There's no point in training for battleships.
Just forget about all that. Your progression as a missile boat pilot needs to be.
Kestrel, Caracal, Drake, Tengu and stop there.
Now, this isn't to say the tengu is OP in pve, even if it might be.
The problem truly is that everything above the size of a battlecruiser that uses missiles sucks in pve.
Raven sucks Scorpion sucks Scorpion Navy issue is decent, but dps sucks Raven Navy has awesome dps but sucks at everything else in order to get that dps Golem awesome on paper, sucks in action and has massive isk and SP investment just for lvl 4 missions to be possible, let alone effective at lvl 4 missions.
So, as it sits right now the most effective missile boat in game for pve is the tengu.
So How about CCP rebalances all of those crappy missile boats long before they attempt to go nerfing the best ship we got. |

The change to how the tracking computers work will make the Raven and the Torp Phoon a plausible PvP ship again.
You can use Torps and change between scripts for better damage vs smaller targets or better projection against large targets.
Also, boosting T2 misiles, giving the drake a bonus to HAMs, and putting tracking computers on them makes them BETTER at small gang PvP but harder for a blob to manage well.
If you can't read and understand the changes that is NOT CCP's fault.
You just read like two lines, understood half of one, and made a rant thread about it.

Where is this info on this?
I would like to read it.
That said though, the raven would still require at least 2 target painters in order to have good effective dps, so if it also needs tracking computers, well, then it's a terrible design.
The raven needs to be revamped as is anyway. I think it needs at least one more mid slot to counter the need for so many target painters even with cruise missiles. |

Its in the Dev Post.
As for the Raven, there are no details for how much the tracking computer and tracking enhancers with scripts will change the explosion velocity and radius of missiles, but conceivably it should be enough to allow you to EITHER project torps better OR increase their damage against smaller targets WITHOUT having to rely on ridiculous numbers of TP's.
Also, I feel that the missile change, coupled with the hints to changes in the Typhoon to make it a Torp boat can be seen as signaling that the BS rebalance will address issues of missile BS viability in PvP.
The mere addition of scriptable changes to missile damage or projection is already half the solution, now missiles are more flexible, which is inherently more PvP-able.
Also, the changes to the T2 missiles supports this idea that missiles are about to become a very flexible solution for PvP in small gangs, but blobs will be done. Who wants to manage a blob of drakes if all of them have to be told to switch scripts, and ammo just to keep putting damage on target?
The missile rebalance is actually a very elegant solution to both the overpowering presence of the drake blob AND the complete lack of missiles in other PvP situations. |

/agreed with the blobbing and all that
Since I am a mission runner, my concerns are merely in the pve effectiveness of the ships. Currently as it sits, there's no point in training past the tengu for missions because it outperforms them in pve.
Now, this is not because the tengu is OP(though it may be) but rather because the caldari bs's t1 and t2 (and there's no missile boat pirate bs cause rattlesnake is drones) are sub par in their mission performance. |

I run missions and null sec anomalies in a Raven.
It is fine, and its a lot less risky than using a tengu.
Also, I have never trained into Tengu for a couple of reasons, the cost, the skill points, and the SP loss to name a few.
I have never jumped on the tengu train and do not plan to.
Cruise missile ravens are fine for missions, just slower than some other options. WIth the mentioned changes to missiles being affected by tracking computers and enhancers, there is no reason why a cruise missile raven won't be able to do MORE damage at LONGER range in PvE.
