scenario:
a freighter/orca/super-plated BS jumps in low-sec. There is a gate camp and they logoff. We have 1 minute to kill the ship before she vanishes. If we dont have enough DPS the ship simply disappear also if pointed.
There is a way to give aggro (15 min timer) to the ship that logged off?
thx.

there are two and ONLY two ways to kill ships that have logged off before their 1 minute timer is up 1. alpha battleships (at least 15) to instapop them 2. titan doomsday

Give the ship aggro before he logs off.
Stealth bombers with a smartbomb were a popular choice to catch logofski ships. _______________________ The best thing in EvE is Barrage M. |

stealthbomber with smartbomb would work if they decloaked before they logged off, I think the other option would be to use a ECM burst rigged widow or scorpion to aggro them as I think it can be used on top of the gate

arent you invulnerable to AOE weapons while in the 30 seconds after jump in?? Bombs dont deal any damage to such ships during the session change timer, so how would a burst work if it wont hit the logoffski ship?

As far as i know the SB is used after the target logs back in. Not before he loggsoff. _______________________ The best thing in EvE is Barrage M. |

This means that for example:
1) a carrier undock, or arrive with a cyno at a station. 2) we bump the carrier out of the undock 3) the carrier logoff (she have no aggro). 4) a bomber with a smartbomb or a remote ECM burst shooted before 1 minute give the aggro to the carrier and give us 15 minutes to kill her?
confirming this?

No. The damage has to be dealt before the pilot loggs off. The moment he loggs off, if he was not damaged, the timer is 1 minute _______________________ The best thing in EvE is Barrage M. |

i have better idea: why not enlarge warp-in time to 20-30 minutes? this will make ganking on the gates and undocks more easy.....
wait... we are in "pvp" thread.....

There is no way to catch log off people.
If you can they did something wrong.

As soon as the client and the server agree to close the connection (either the pilot logs off, or the server deduces he has disconnected), the appropriate timer starts. After this, there is no way to change its duration until the pilot logs in again.
If someone logs off while still under gate cloak without aggression, they will only have a one-minute timer, but their ship decloaks as soon as they log off. It is still possible to point the ship and kill it before the timer expires. (I have seen it happen in front of my alt's eyes several times.) ---
