currently highsec pirates use several tactics and game mechainics together to make themselves more or less invulnerable to counter atttack
If you attack them, they come back in a L33T PVP ship with fleet boosters, boosters, neutral reppers, and pwn your ass. if you bring in help they can simply throw ships in a neutral orca and run away
If you war dec them they will simply go into NPC corps with an alt holding the corp
if they are in an alliance (like YOINK) then they may just hunt you down to make your life miserable during and long after the war dec
if you suicide gank them to force them to go into negative, they will simply undock in heavily tanked battleships and have their friends pop your pods as soon as concord kills your ship (spamming warp doesn't save you from lag) and they will only fly cheap insured t1 fit ships
and if they petition for griefing you might get banned even though suicide ganking them might be the only thing you can do to them
is there any actual way to get back at them and come out on top?

1. Join them doesn't work considering the first thing they will do is gank you 2. Gain their trust see 1. 3. steal/gank/whatever... they have no assets to steal and t1 insured battleships cost very little after insurance 4. ??? ???? 5. profit in the time spent trying these steps and somehow managing to succeeding, I could easily make 5 billion isk in the 6 months making new alts attempting to get revenge
does anyone else have any ideas?

You don't have to join them on this char. Use one of your alt or better make a new toon just for this. (You can sell him when you're done, so you don't lose any $)

First off, don't attack them. This is a game, that is their game, you will likely lose.
Don't war dec them.
If they follow you around and ninja loot / suicide gank you, fly into low sec and laugh as they cling to the shallow end like a small child in a pool with swimmys.
Generally speaking, ignore them, don't play their game.

Don't shoot them. Why would you give them... I dunno.. exactly what they want, hmm?

Don't shoot them. For any reason. War deccing them is just giving them license to shoot you first.

STOP SHOOTING NINJAS FFS.

Don't. Shoot. Them.
And get the hell out of Jita.

See above.

Not really, no. So stop trying. If someone ninjas your mission, move on.

If you're going to live and work in high sec, learn to ignore them, or move to low sec/0.0 and deal with the other problems there (but be able to shoot back)
When we lived in high sec and fought in low sec, we got 1 WD a week, seriously, no kidding, random people would WD us at least once a week, usualy only for a week...we don't mine or do missions...we actually fought back (PvP corp living in high sec for convenience)...they disappeared in stations...or dropped their own corp to get past us...then rejoined their corp 2 min later...or they had 10 neutral Guardians on standby...we moved to low sec...none of them followed us into dreaded "low security". I actually remember a fleet of 15+ BSs (and their associated neutral reppers) that would not follow our BCs 1 jump into low sec...to be fair it was a trap :)...we were going to have some of our own neutral friends go GCC on their neutral logi :P...but still! :)
Now I'm ranting. If you want to fight, leave High Sec behind. If you don't want to fight. DON'T SHOOT!

Going to low/null sec really is the solution if you are in a real corp (as opposed to 1 man or npc tax evasion corps). Low/null sec levels the playing field greatly. If they toss their **** into the "neutral" orca, kill the orca. Ditto for neutral RR and so on, if it isn't blue, it's hostile. And that makes life far simpler than the high sec soup where you really can't tell who's on who's side. And as previously stated, very few high sec "pirates" and mercs will take even a single jump into low sec. That said you'd best know what awaits you. Low sec isn't safer in of itself, you just know where the locals stand which helps immensely in making informed tactical decisions.

How to avoid high sec "bad guys"
1. Never EVER talk to them or say anything, particularly if they wardeck you. 2. Don't talk in local. 3. Never agress. Leave their cans alone. 4. If someone seems like they want to fight you there is almost always a very good reason. So don't do it.
How to punish high sec "bad guys" 1. Ignore them. Don't talk, don't fight, don't rage. 2. Hire mercs. 3. If they wardeck you and you want to fight back, use cheap ships, prepare to lose but have fun, and make them work for every kill 4. Learn station agro mechanics and use them to be the biggest jerk you can. Make them camp you. If they start calling you names in local you are winning. Harvest their tears of rage and frustration.

Use concord, learn the game mechanics, and use them to your advantage.
It takes a moment to make a corp, but a day to deck it.
Win the isk wars the easy way.
I saw my whole high-sec alliance get wrecked cos no-one wanted to corp jump at first.
Oh yea, bully's have a habit of knowing who they can beat on.

1. Doesn't work, a lot of these corps (inc. ours) have closed recruitment 2. Doesn't work, any corp that is smart asks for a full API key upon application 3. These corps rarely have any assets that you could steal, and ganking wouldn't work either- we rarely fly anything that's expensive without really knowing how to use ut 4. !!! 5. Go into the red.

You can have a lot of fun with them. I once had a group camping me in a station while I was afk and went to the mall. When I came home, they were still there! The chatlogs were priceless.
But if you just generally want to avoid this kind of stuff, set up shop a little off the beaten path. 99% of highsec problems occur because people have to cling to the busy areas.

Just so that we are all completely clear on this, the insides of the SN corp hangers look like this:

Move out to lowsec or 0.0. Or even move your gangs around in highsec and force them to split up. The type of corp you're talking about are station hugging and risk averse and probably won't follow you more than a couple of jumps, let alone into somewhere dangerous like lowsec. If they only camp a single system you can pretty much ignore them completely.

Best solution?
Go to 0.0
Works wonders when you don't have to worry about concord anymore.
