We have some intel we like to hear.
X- is pointed (shortly after "spread tackle")
De-agress or X- is de-agressed
Weapons hot
Drones out
Red Cycle (refers to bubbles or cyno's)
Check Local (similar to "local spike" but brings ppl's attention to the local chat for various reasons)
When primary is going down we repeat the next target and call a new secondary ("X- is going down. New primary will be Y-. Secondary is Z-. Spread Tackle. Who is on that falcon?")
Falcon pilot is rarely called by name. He is usually referred to as "The Falcon". We didn't make that a rule, but it just plays out that way naturally. Same with Arazu's, Black Birds, etc.

Thanks for the input everyone.
I like the Red/Green stuff - it makes a lot of sense.
Couple of questions: As far as reporting who you have points on when spreading tackle, do you just go for someone with a name in the alphabet like yours, some similar system, or choose randomly? When reporting you have a point on someone, is it via voice (can be chaotic when there's a fairly big fleet) or in fleet chat, or depends on the fleet size?
Keep the replies coming everyone! _____

Also
"jump" = "wait 10 seconds then jump" "tackle everything" = "wait 10 seconds then tackle everything" "you're all going to die" = "you didn't wait 10 seconds for me to change my mind"
Intersperse the word "bark" randomly in the above phrases for added authenticity

*Don't bump the fu*king mini titan* to mean don't bump the black ops. (also keep at range 2000 to *Black ops pilot's name*)
Also when naming systems some people say it differently. For example y-4 could be pronounciated as why dash four, why dack four or upsilon dash four depending on who you are flying with. ( I think dash is English Dack is US and upsilon is eastern european)

We just call out "point/web/scram on X" on voice comms. It's usually not a problem for us because we rarely run fleets more than 50 people or so and "spread points" is only called when the enemy starts to bail or we think the battle is already won. If something happens, the FC just calls "check" or "comms" to get everybody to STFU and await further orders.

Tack (or some other spelling) get used a lot. Always thought it's some central/eastern european word. I once heard a thick-accented FC say something like "Align AB... A line thingy, what do you call it.. tack? Align A tack B" so maybe it's a bad-translation that's caught on, or a borrowed non-English word. EVE specific or not?
Anyway I like it, it's clearer than dash _

basically if it comes to just trying to grab stuff, you allready won, and enemy are trying to bail.
Then you always go for the most expensive target you can point (ofc if only in range oc cheap **** u grab that)
And announce on comms, "Point on vulture/loki etc"

Warp to a loadup (or ping) off the xxx gate - means warp to a bookmark on grid but usually over 150km from the gate - tactic to avoid bubbles...

Siege Red - Do not turn on siege/triage if not activated, turn it red if activated. Siege Green - Turn on siege/triage modules Need safes - Ceptors need to warp to a planet/sun and place a bookmark while in warp, then warp back to the bookmark and type "www" in fleet once they have arrived. Need a rolling safe - Ceptor/Dram needs to MWD towards a sun/planet, allowing fleet mates to warp to him at regular intervals, keeping the fleet safe from probers. Anchor on me - Everyone in fleet needs to set "keep at range" (between 500-4000) on the FC. Conga Line - Everyone sets approach on the character above then in the fleet list. Contrary to popular belief, this can have uses. Need eyes on X - A cloaky ship needs to burn to whatever fleet/system/POS/Staging and sit cloaked safely off it, then provide a short scout report on what they see. Primary, Secondary, Tertiary - Primary is main target, secondary should be locked, tertiary should be locked. If primary isn't in range, shoot secondary, if primary and secondary aren't, shoot tertiary. Drones on X - This is not a primary target for guns, but your drones should be attacking it.
This signature is useless, but it is red.

Edited by: General Windypops on 25/07/2011 20:19:27 I believe it's also mandatory for some obese, sweaty sounding scando to suddenly start jabbering in hurdy gurdy talk mistaking the fleet channel for the one he shares with his fat, wheezing friends before being kicked.
It's also obligatory for some cheery, geeky sounding american to join the channel in the middle of a major op and say 'Howdy, folks. Anything happening?'. In such circumtances, the appropriate response is 4 minutes of utter silence to make them feel awkward. CSM 6: Let's get Windypops indypops. |
