Yesterday someone pointed out the fact that there is a category of wallet transactions called "Respec Payment" now. Nobody seemed to know what it was for, so perhaps it was mistakenly enabled before the feature it's supposed to be linked to was. However, I wanted to ask the Eve community at large what they thought of this.
You can view it yourself by going to your Wallet, in the Journal section, and scrolling to R in the long, long menu of different transaction types.
From the name, it sounds to me like there will be some sort of way to "respec" something (likely skill points) at some point in the near future. As this coincides with the launch of Incarna, my money is that such a feature would also be paid for in AUR.
So, if this in fact what I think it is (and it's not me failing to know about an already-existing feature), what are your thoughts on "respec payments"?

Not sure either but in an effort to add fuel I suspect it is what you suspect. CCP has made it clear their intentions are to milk as much money out of this game they can. That includes ****ing off the so called "Few bitter vets" who has worked hard to get their skills where they are today.
So why not be able to "RE-SPEC" your skills right along beside the new convienence items and barbie dolls. That way when you chase a target into a station in a probe he can "LEVEL UP" in station and come out in a titan and smack your arse around a bit.
Total disrespect to the old time players who've worked hard on their skills. Sad.... really sad.

This was probably coded in when they were going to have plex for remapping added in for incursion, but was removed due to player concerns.

Edited by: Petrus Blackshell on 19/07/2011 14:25:34 Wallet transaction types for other actually announced Incarna features are already included, apparently.
Looks like it might well be what we all fear.
Edit: linkified link.

CCP also stated in a press interview AFTER the CSM meeting that they would like to see neural remaps paid by AUR soon. I don't have the link handy or quote but it was discussed here on the fourms as it happened.
Just watch their code and you will see what info they leak out in each patch, even though it "should" be in a seperate branch if it isnt released yet but we all know in multi team companies that usually doesnt work cleanly and enums/types are leaked out by another team due to dependancies, ownership and schedules.
DIFF is your friend :) I suggest keep watching those refTypeID's each patch and diff them.
If you think AUR is just vanity, I have tshirts printed ready with "I told ya so" printed on them ready when it happens.

Actually, I wonder if this is another of Bizdev's great ideas to incentivize more player money-spending by WoW-ifying Eve -- in this case, making the hard skill training decisions inconsequential if you bring the cha-ching to the table.
