Yeah yeah, a little late, but so what.
Seriously, what the hell is the pod doing hanging off of a baclony? Am I supposed to tumble out naked and vulnerable onto an elevated grating for all of the station to see?
I thought the CQ would contain atlest a bathroom with access to an ungooing chamber, just as they hinted at during fanfest 2009.

It's the CCP way.
Say one thing, but do the complete opposite.

I believe a decanting room has been discussed.
No idea if it will just be an addition, or an optional extra (along with bigger, spiffier quarters) that people who care about such things can pony up for.

I couldnt have cared less for big and spiff but why the hell did they opt for tacking it onto the railing of what looks more aikin to a fire escape than anything else.

Haha...
well, technically ur not naked in your pod, since u are still "alive". But when u are "podded" u wake up at ur clone station. of course, u are naked, minus ur junk, when u are podded in space
either way, Id be happier if their was a damn remote in CQ!

Indeed, forced CQ is seamless immersion. Whether it seems or looks ridiculous, is neither here no there.

And here I was thinking that was just a Minmatar amenity. The Galente stations will have decadent spa-like unpodding. (Don't I wish?)

I require a bevy of luscious "decanting assistants" that assist my immortal butt with such mundane tasks. ===== The world will not end in 2012, however there will be a serious nerf to Planetary Interaction. |

Agreed, clearly this is a feature found in Minmatar Stations, in Amarr Stations you are greeted with Slavers who lash the goo off your back with leather whips. Galente Stations feature hot tub spas to relax in, and the Caldari... well, lets just say that they keep it business like and professional.

Never mind that years of fiction have stated that leaving the pod is an intense and extremely unpleasant experience, now we apparently do that every time we dock to pick up more ammunition.
And put on our clothes really really really fast.
Completely breaks any sort of immersion.

Edited by: Mashie Saldana on 21/07/2011 19:42:34 It's easier to park it there compared to some tiny quarters. Imagine how much space that would be left in the CQ if you had a pod as well in there?

The pod wouldnt go into the CQ obviosuly, rather dock up against a portcuils/airlock/door/whatever on the outside of your CQ, which would lead into your own private ungooing chamber which in turn would be accessbile through a small scruffy bathroom where you would do your best to recover from the unpleasant experience by taking a hot shower.
I thought that was bloody ovbious but obviously not.

Really? well then my bad and I sit corrected. But why would a pilot be naked in a pod? I wouldnt take my clothes off to get into an escape pod, unless Angelina Jolie did first

As soon as your docking request is accepted your pod is drained. Then nanites clean and dry you is a couple of seconds. Next they take your disassembled clothes out of storage in your pod and re-assemble them on your body. All the while your ship docks, the pod unplugs itself and flies to the balcony. As soon at it gets there you are clean, dry and clothed, and can walk right out of the pod onto the balcony.

Welcome to last month(or so) OP, but yeah.
It¦s what military experts call: Fearlessly immersion breaking.
Or how the problem of launching a major feature prematurely is solved in Iceland.
Have a neat idea(balcony) to show of your ship, but not enough art resources to build more than a balcony and a cupboard.
.. how the heck fit the damn pod in there? Just effin park it in the air. _ .. darn |

Yeah it's pretty sh*t.
A year or two ago I might have hoped, if CCP did something like this, it was purely for technical reasons ("maybe it's a bit difficult to implement the lore-appropriate version at first, give them a bit of time").
Now, I think they just don't care, everything's set up around marketing NEX and getting a new playerbase to replace the old.
EVE looks like is going to become an instant gratification PvP arena with some mediocre PvE and some vestigial lore.
Bye bye virtual world, it was nice knowing you ... *****

I'm guessing a super advanced version of the human race is still caught up on the idea of being naked. Even though they learn everything they know through a computer and can live forever?
God I feel awful for any capsuleer that is innocent when they start this game. It only leads down a road of woes .

It's not the nakedness that's such a problem, it's that de-podding is a disorienting thing that you'd need a bit of privacy for to collect your wits after. The idea of doing it casually on the end of a landing, as if it were just a shuttle or something, is absurd (in terms of the lore as I understand it anyway). *****

someone is REALLY late lol maybe they will add it later of the year or next year. keep in mind the CQ we have now is a test bed for WoD tech, they kinda rushed it out to fill the content void of incarna while want to attach the pod somewhere without spend too much resource on it.
so hopefully we get an upgrade later (or for 55000 AUR)
