I've been scanning down wormholes for the last couple of weeks, and I haven't seen an unoccupied C2/C3 wh. I saw one or two free C1 wormholes though.
Is this how CCP intended w-space to be?
Although, would it be correct to assume that when more T3 ships come out, more systems will be added?

new tech3 are 2014 (c) and noone said new wh would be added. they however said there would be more chance to add new wh than new nullsec

This is the nature of EvE. Provide a resource, and players will monopolize it.
This is why the concept of 'unexplored systems' and 'free space' can't come to pass. We, the players, are the reason. Even if there isn't a mechanic available to let us control a system or region, we'll still do so.
400,000 players or more in EvE. What, did you think we were all in hisec?

It's very likely that there will be changes to the wormhole mechanics because I don't think the devs intended players to be squating in them full time. I think CCP Soundwave mentioned this in some interview somewhere.
It was also mentioned that there may be additional wormhole systems added that are more suitable for permanent colonisation. I don't know how they will accomplish that without a s.h.i.t ton of player rage since many players/corps have invested heavily in their systems (carriers/dreads/rorquals).

Wait 2497 wormhole systems are not enough for you?

If you cant find an empty wormhole take an occupied one. It is EvE online after all. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

The presence of a control tower does not mean the system is occupied.

I've spent 3 weeks of dedicated searching for a new home. C2 -> c3 would have been ideal but, all of those are occupied that I came across. So, I settled for something less than ideal. I'm now 2 wh jumps deep from k-space...it's rather quiet and still profitable. I've got no complaints.
With w-space becoming over crowded expect more conflict. The ideal systems are the ones to be fought over.

No, they intended it to be empty and unused for 2 whole years until you felt like claiming a system with no effort or conflict.
Bug report this and get it fixed.

I just hope the devs are capable of separating their initial intent with what the current reality is regarding wormholes. Even if they weren't intended to be full-time colonized, the fact is that this is what they've evolved into.
It's not a bad thing. Go with it.
Wormholes are frontier living in Eve. You never know when that band of invaders is coming, or even if they're already there. You have to work extra hard (compared to easier living, like null space for example) to keep yourselves fueled up and functioning. You don't have access to constantly replenishing supplies of minerals, so you have to plan when you tap grav sites for those resources. There's no Concord, no local, no jump bridges, cynos, etc.
Don't nerf the frontier. Let it grow.

Oh snap! I like your subtlety.
@ the OP: There are other options such as making friends with current occupants and joining their group or playing the annoying bastard and provide incentives for a crew to leave a desirable w-space system.

Confirming wh life is some of the best eve has to offer. Small gang pvp, very few blobs, no hotdrops or supers, no omniscient local (yay ambushes), constantly shifting routes, decent isk, opportunities for both pvper and industrial alike. Bonus points for being much harder to bot safely than 0.0. tbh, wh space is what 0.0 should have been.
Moar wormhole spaec pls CCP.

Considering that ALL C1-C3 WH systems are static connected to k-space (hi,low or null), is it really any surprise that these systems would be occupied?
You'll find that there are many C4-C6 WH systems that are unoccupied because the don't have a static connected to k-space

Actually, it's more like 150k individual players, and 350k subbed accounts. ~Gnosis~ |

You'll also find many that are populated because they don't have a static connected to K-space. Holes with only statics to K-space are less desirable.

1. C1/C2/C3s are full of jews. 2. Control towers litter space, especially if offline, they stay there forever until someone bashes them 3 Why do you want more systems? Evict current ones. 4. There is a nature limit to squatters, at some point the amount of signatures/sites overall will decline where people will leave due to barely making isk, etc.

There are plenty of unoccupied wormholes systems. In fact they are all empty. Every single one I go in to I nobody is in local and none of my core probes ever picks up another ship.

Fighting for wormhole space has already come into effect, its prime real estate even more so than 0.0 and the less real estate there is the more valuable it becomes.

there are empty c1-c3's still.
After living in a c4 with a static c3, they were not that hard to find. There are some very interesting empty c2's out there, with sites never seen before. It's all about patience,

I suggested this very idea several months ago here but apparently the listeners of the show hosted by the deadbeat dad (of 5 young children) and the guy who has to buy 2 seats to fly anywhere are as clueless as the hosts.
