Ninety something people dead in a lone gunman shooting spree at a youth facility plus a city-centre bomb.

lmao... glad I'm not the only one who's unimpressed by this kind of bandwagon. ---- Will 2011-06-24 go down as the day CCP stood still, or the day the dream died? |

He is quoted saying in twitter : "One person with a belief is equal to the force of 100,000 who have only interests"
A single person can do so much, both in good and in evil. Pity he decided to for evil.

Kalle, some people decided to start making completely inappropriate jokes and/or engage in political discussions, so measures had to be taken. Rest assured we are not locking these threads just for the sake of it.

How ironic that the worst thing to happen in Norway prior to this was when a few black metal kids bured down a handfull of empty churches in the middle of the night. I guess wearing black clothes and listening to Satanic music doesn't inspire the same level of violence as reading the bible.
Although anyone familiar with Norwegian history knows this isn't the first time they've suffered a large slaughter at the hands of christianity.

Yes the victims' families are unlikely to read this. However maybe we players can use the threads to discuss how best to be helpful... I can't think of much myself, beyond "I'm sorry for your loss", it's kind of frustrating.
Would a PLEX drive be called for in this case? They aren't a poor country, tho perhaps some families would benefit from grief counseling or other therapy. Is there a charity that offers this?

Summary of story. A man decided that he did not agree with the politics in Norway so he decided to blow up those who made it. First he made a huge bomb he placed on a strategic place between department and governmental buildings like the office of the prime minister. The bomb was timed and then he moved off to his next target: A youth camp with 600 or so young people around 14 to 19 years old. When the bomb blew in Oslo it attracted all the local police there, so when he started shooting on the isle he could by the look of it operate in peace for 90 minutes before the police arrived. The monster surrendered immediately.
The death toll so far is 7 in the city center and 85 in the youth camp.

Ah cool, what I meant by my comment was before I had a chance to read what had happened or what the thread was about it would been cleaned, like the locked ones. Considering what actually happened I am willing to bet I know what the deleted comments said :D

humanity made him do it. seriously, spend enough time paying attention to the news or on the internet and you will inevitably want to take everyone out. I've thought of it enough times.

From what I've read he's facing the 22 years for the "Terrorism" laws in relation to the bombing in Oslo. I haven't seen what charges for the murders on the island yet. Thay haven't found all the missing and dead yet, many were shot trying to swim away.
