I am currently in an Abbadon. I can fit a t2 shield tank and a mostly t2 armor tank, will be fully t2 soon. My problem is I am a huge aesthetics nut. I love the look of the Rokh...I want to fly the Rokh in mission running. But I just can't find a fit that does enough damage while maintaining enough tank. The Abbadon is a beast and I don't even have as good of skills with it. Any pointers? Tips?
Oh and a final addendum...is a Tengu viable in level 4s to any extent? |

I know the Rokh isn't really favored too much in missions right now, especially because of its Hybrid weapons.
As to the Tengu though, yes, it is great at running lvl 4 missions. It's easily in the top 3 Caldari mission ships (with the CNR and Golem), and it's definitely up there in the best mission ships in the game. |

I'm assuming that is with the missile sub-part and not the hybrid sub-part? |

Indeed.
If you're looking for a nice looking ship that uses your laser skills, try a Nightmare. |

yeah nightmare or palading for your lazer ownage.
As far as the rokh goes theres a reason you couldnt find such a fit, its just not very well suited for pve. You could if you really wanted, but that sounds like masochism to me. |

is a char who has mostly 3-4 in all relevant skills fit to fly lvl4s in a nightmare? which skills MUST be 5 to avoid fail? |

I don't think any are required not to fail except for the obvious drone skills to get T2 scouts. A Nightmare is very powerful if you use it against npc's where it makes sense (i.e. EM/Thermal weakest resists) I'd get everything to IV asap though. |

ok thx for the info :) as for the drones: how much of an increase in drone dps do you get from upgrading 4 lvl1 drones () to 5 lvl2 drones with the appropriate skills? |

With all skills being equal, 5 Hob IIs push out 60% more damage than 4 Hob Is.

Soooo if I DID really want to, and assuming I AM a masochist what direction would I take? Blasters? Rails?
Yeah nightmare is good, but i kinda hate the way it looks. I suppose i could go back to my old standby, the mael....but i love the rokh so much! Maybe ill just stay in an Abbadon.

I love the look of the Rokh as well and have used it for tons of missions. Some missions are a breeze with the Rokh while others are extremely tedious.

Blasters vs rails depends on the mission. Some missions warp you right into a pack of enemies. Good for blasters. Some missions have you warp on several tens of km away. Good for rails. Others let you choose engagement range.

Considering the pathetic dps of railguns, I would try to avoid using them at all. However, in order for blasters to work, you NEED to have t2 turrets, because you will be fighting 90% of the time with null. If I were to fly one, I would go with something like this:
[Rokh, Blaster PvE] Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Tracking Enhancer II Tracking Enhancer II
X-Large Shield Booster II Heat Dissipation Field II Ballistic Deflection Field II Invulnerability Field II 100MN Afterburner II Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800
Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L
Large Ancillary Current Router I Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Hammerhead II x5
Gives you 681dps with null loaded (a pathetically low amount BTW), and 855 with navy antimatter. Navy antimatter will let you touch out to around 20k with decent force, and null will let you touch out to around 50k. Note, I stated touch there... thats at optimal + falloff, which means that you would realistically be doing about half the listed damage. The problem with this is that if you take a similarly fit abaddon out, the abaddon will be doing 916dps out to 20-30km, and 730dps out to 45-60km (all in optimal). Which makes you really wonder why you would ever bother with a rohk for missions. For both of these fits, I discounted drones, because both can deploy a set of mediums.

for long range missions:
[Rokh, Mission] Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer Tracking Enhancer II Tracking Enhancer II
Cap Recharger II Medium Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800 Heat Dissipation Field II Ballistic Deflection Field II Shield Boost Amplifier II Large Shield Booster II
425mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L 425mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L 425mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L 425mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L 425mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L 425mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L 425mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L 425mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L
Large Ancillary Current Router I Large Hybrid Discharge Elutriation II Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Hammerhead II x5
70k optimal and lousy 477 dps. guns and hardeners run >1h, cap booster is for longer shield boosting. well you have to suffer for the good looks...

Tengu is amazing at L4s. With good skills its tank is great even when you're not moving, and with low skills, all you have to do is orbit the next accel gate or an object at 5-10k and you will rarely get hit with an AB active. Can basically solo an unlimited number of battleships because they very rarely hit you (provided there are no webs and they are using guns). Torps usually hit my tengu for 5-10 damage. You've fallen into the trap that is the Rokh.
I remember when it first came off the assembly line, was a shinny awesome looking ship, and Caldari BS's finally had a ship to use guns (that was made to use them).
Then I flew it...
Cap sucks, the PG is tight, and on top of that you get optimal bonuses and resistances...
Problem is, you use your capacitor for A) pew pewing, or B) tanking...
I attempted a buffer fit once to see how it would to, the rokh is a massive brick...but it's DPS is laughable, not to mention rail tracking sucks if anything get's close, and without T2 blasters and null, blasters aren't viable at all...you'll be shooting for so long you'll run out of cap and sadface
Of course you could always fit auto-cannons and not worry about cap at all The Rokh is the redheaded step child of the Battleship class...love the ship, but it's in need of some love. |

saw a passive rokh fit somewhere I tried a few times....didn't suck but wasn't great.
Lows:
3 X mag stab II 2 X spr's
mids: 4 x mix and matched passive resists II (tailored to rats ofc) 2 x lse II
highs;
8 X 425 II's
rigs:
large ACR (needed for the 8 guns, for me anyway) rest up to you
Drones: whatever you like, I ran hammerhead II's
Basically a true passive drake fit applied to rokh. Actually worked kind of decent. Kite and string along rats as best as bs can to kill off dps. Cap lasts alot longer than an active tank will...jsut sucks when if you get beat down, you have the spr's and guns fighting for scraps of cap as it comes up worst case.
Went back to tengu missile spam tbh...this didn't do it for me. Not bad...jsut I like my tengu more.

I feel your pain about the rokh, one of the best looking battleships but medioric compared to the rest My advice since you already have both caldari and amarr skills , if you can afford it the nightmare Givee you the best of both races shield tanking and the divine cleansing power of lasers
Tengu is considered the best mission runner around but it is vulnerable to webbers..very vulnerable Another option if you looking in t3 s and don't want to retrain all the missile skills is the legion pulse laser fit , you will take longer than a tengu but lots and lots of fun flying one in a lvl 4, just as vulnerable to webbers aswell tho ---------------------------------------------- God knows everything but a true amarrian knows everything even better |

In the distant past I used this fit to run missions/Plexes in until I cross-trained Minmatar.
[Rokh, Blasters PVE]
Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Null L
100MN Afterburner II Medium Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 400 Invulnerability Field II Invulnerability Field II Shield Boost Amplifier II X-Large Shield Booster II
Tracking Enhancer II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Large Ancillary Current Router I Large Hybrid Collision Accelerator I Large Hybrid Locus Coordinator I
You can project ~700DPS from your guns to 40km with NULL, ~800 to 20km with Faction Anitmatter, plus ~150 from 5 Hammer 2s. It's a burst tank obviously, but is fine once you know the missions/triggers. Swap a magstab for another TE if you want a little more range. You don't need to perma-run everything unless you are AFK missioning, particularly level 4s.
Caldari Battleship at 5 preferred!
It is outclassed by a Tempest with ACs, Arty Mael, AC Mael and so on... but that was the best mission running setup I could get with the Rokh when I used it.
Hope that helps...
