Same as topic. Found at least one corp that is immune to war decs. Very irritating. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

Oh... there's more corps out there that are immune from war-decs. Uhmm let's see here, there is Caldari Navy Logistics, Sisters of Eve, Aliastra, Center of Advanced Studies etc.
I agree 100%! Totally unacceptable behavior on CCPs part!

Does it still stand that mutual wardecs can count against the the wardec cap? I heard of people using alt corps or mutual agreements to do this, thus avoiding the possibility of any incoming legitimate decs. I think it was about 6 months ago but my sense of time is terrible. It may or may not have been fixed in the meantime. ~~~

Pretty much have a bunch of alt corps declare war on your main corp, and that makes other war decs much more expensive to the point that it's not worth the trouble.

Hard to comment on such a vague comment.
No player corps are immune. If you have the isk, you have the war dec.

I petitioned a GM about that and the answer is that you can only be the aggressor 3 times, you can have as many incoming decs as possible.
They are obviously not an NPC corp.
Edit; I copy/pasted the name, typed it manually, and used only the fist letter in the search. Then the first 2 letters etc etc. No amount of finagling brings the name up. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

Send me 100 mill ISK, I'll take care of it for you.
Ahem. I've been right next to a player with their freshly drawn info panel right there while they're in sight, done a search for their corporation from my corp panel/war tab and gotten "no such blah blah exists" five, count them, FIVE different times.
If I get that response, and they happen to be in an alliance, searching for the alliance yields a result. However, I'm not only left with not knowing if this corp is engaged in any active wars, I'm left wondering how many other loose ends are floating around this tightly coded monstrosity...er...game.

Two ways to avoid war decs:
1) Create 2 corps. One with each alt. WHen you get war decked, change corp to the alt corp. 2) Disband the corp. reform under new name.

Agreed. However, I am not looking to draft dodge, I'm looking to kill. Also, there is at least one other method, or I would have started a much more useful "troll" [sic] thread instead of this one. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

I apologize for not elaborating in the OP. It is of course EvE online and the less intel you give up the better.
The corporation in question has 20-some members and is in an alliance.
I attempted to dec this corporation but the corporation name was unsearchable, even if I copy it directly and paste it into the box.
The alliance 'exists' as far as eve is concerned and is able to be dec'd. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

Forgive me for the dumbass question but I thought if a corp was in an alliance, you had to dec the alliance itself. ~~~

I would not be a bit surprised. There is an option in game which allows you to support a corp in your alliance in a war that only they are involved in. They cannot join your alliance with a dec, and if they get dec'd while joining your alliance the war applies to the whole alliance. So thats what I get for assuming in game options work.
There is also an option to allow your ALLIANCE to use certain modules in your WH. The first time I ever moved into a WH it was ASSUMED that those in game functions functioned. Learned that one the hard way too. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

Edited by: Syekuda on 29/07/2011 00:44:45 Like Lady said, you have to wardec the alliance, you can't go at a specific corp if its in an alliance.
so wardec the alliance and have fun.
also: The formula for calculating the cost is B * (N +1) * (W + 1). Where B = Base Price, N = number of wars you currently have, W = number of wars currently against the target corporation --------------------------------------------------

ya, you can't dec an individual Corp in an alliance and it has been like that for as long as I can remember
you can imagine my self face palm when I tried srearching to see who had decd my friend's corp and then getting all confused when I couldn't find it in the war search thingy
It was cause they were in an alliance

Let's face it. It's an easy mistake to make when you aren't used to war dec mechanics.
Thanks to the responses since my last post that confirm my suspicions. ~~~

I've never been the executor of an Alliance so there may have been some additional option in use which I'm unaware of but I've never heard of this as a game system limitation... It's polite not to join an Alliance with an active dec', if nothing else it gives the dec'ing corp a very cheap week of war but I've seen any number of corps with active decs against them joining Alliances.
IIRC joining an Alliance and then leaving in order to shed a dec' has been an exploit since (I can't now remember the name of the Alliance) someone set up an Alliance specifically to allow people to shed their wardecs back in the Privateer era but I'm not aware of any game mechanic modification which prevents it. --

If you are the aggressor ( Meaning you started the dec) then no you cant join a alliance via game mechanics ( last i checked).
However If you are the defending corporation ( the one that is being attacked) you can join a alliance and the war would then move to alliance wide.
