For those who DO NOT know the difference. So please stop discussing how it is such a big problem for you to deal with.
And atm, hybrids and missiles are a problem in varied forms of game play.

Your right, Aurum is *not* a problem.
The problem is the whole mindset... Wormholes: The *NEW* end game of Eve - Online: No Local. No Lag. No Blues (No Intell Channesl). No Blobs. |

I took the liberty of bolding the issue in this torch mobs mentality.
It is every ones game.

Nobody gives a two bit flip **** about what you think
Oh, I should correct myself; this is CCP's game and they don't give a two bit flip **** about what you think

You know your omnisciently clairvoyant view of everyone's opinions is quite amazing.

So you're saying having a currency that is tied directly to real world money isn't a problem? I would agree with you, and though I'm a returning player (after 8 months) I will say that in most cases it's best of a game choses one path, not two. If CCP is angling at having a "cash shop" or something similar then they should consider just going F2P and droping this whole subscription stuff. On the other hand I could see F2P EVE being a mess, with tons of high SP toons.
It's hard to say what CCP should do. I know that second life has a real economy tied to true money. Though it's neat it isn't what EVE is. My thought for CCP, if they should ever care about my opinion. Is to remove real money from the in-game economy. Unless eve and CCP are suffering from a lack of income then their is no reason to add a cash system into the game other than greed.
I agree with the OPer, it is a "choice" and as long as real money dosn't ever = strength in the game then it'll be fine.

I havenÆt seen people describing AUR as a problem. IÆve seen them describing it as something they donÆt intend to deal with because they donÆt like it. TheyÆve made their choice and the only problem they have is having AUR stuffed into their wallets against their desires by the EVE is Real rewards program.
This is not a problem that can be solved since there is no choice. The only choice remaining is to use the AUR or not. If they choose to use the AUR, then they have a problem which can be solved.
Thus, if people make the choice to complain about AUR, it isnÆt their problem. ItÆs feedback and if anyone doesnÆt like it, thatÆs their problemààà.or they can make the choice to ignore the feedback and mind their own business instead of trying to direct others in how they should post.

Aurum is a problem because it represents a mis-allocation of resources. They would earn more money by investing the developer effort expended on improving the gameplay and retaining subscriptions.
... though if you like laughing at CCP being bad it's pretty much the best. Though I have high hopes for Dust and Dust-Eve integration.

Windjammer, they have been complaining. Fruitlessly I might add. Most of what I've seen has been "OMG you're going to break the economy" -doubtful or "OMG y u no fix technical problems yet devote all ur ppl to dressups" - sigh, different teams.
Or wait for it, here comes the best one!
THE AUR SHOP IS SEXIST! THE FREE AUR GIFT IS SEXIST! WHY ARE OUR WOMEN CLOTHES SO EXPENSIVE!!!
Sorry for the very 12 year old attitude post but I just find this whole drama very silly, however it fits in perfectly with what CCP wants to do and that is making the best space simulator possible and honestly they've done a damn good job. - Kais |

You do understand how the goods in Dust are going to be purchased, yes? I meanàààif you donÆt like Aurum here in EVE and all itÆs doing is purchasing vanity items, youÆre really going to hate its counterpart in Dust where itÆs going to be used for purchase of weaponry.

A *very* tiny subset of the Eve community care about Dust.
... other than the high probability of it screwing Eve even further. On top of which Dust is free to play, Eve is not.

Wellàà.much of what we write on these forums in fruitless. Yes, IÆd have to agree the complaints about Aurum are probably in in that category and some of it, as youÆve pointed out, is a bit difficult to find other than silly.
However, sometimes CCP listens and the forums are for discussion whether they are fruitless discussions or not.

If Dust 514 is successful it will touch every aspect of the EVE economy when it is fully integrated into EVE and allowed to affect Planetary Interaction. When that happens, everyone in EVE will care about it.
Free? Interesting term. It tends to bring to mind an absolute state. As in, Dust will not require you to spend money. Some aspects of Dust may be free, but Dust characters will have their ability defined by the equipment they possess. That equipment will be gained by purchase with real life money or in game money they get from EVE players. Also, wonÆt you have to purchase the game in the first place?
Handled correctly, it could expand EVEÆs variety. Handled incorrectly, it could anger a lot of customers. Since weÆre talking about CCPààààwellààI think your phrase was high probability?
