Edited by: Esira Stardust on 29/07/2011 19:36:21 Ok, Incarca came... pretty short after I went back to EVE with my main Char. I'm sorry for all the people that did expect more 'content' for this game-extension... can't say much about this... for me it is still my good old EVE... the ships fly and everyone is out for my money or tries to get me back in my pod... love it or hate it. Never mind.
I soon realized EVE had evolved. Flying around with an avarage 6 fps was no real fun. Doh! Not to mention CQ... the idea is nice... sure there is potetial, but not viable with my setup. My Hardware went on over my EVE-downtime, but obviously not fast enough. So, who cares, it was about time, and I bought a new PC.
Spent 400Ç. Got me an AMD Phenom 4x3200, 8GB Ram and (ok, this may be the bottleneck) a ATI Radeon HD 5450. All pretty 'fat' for me, thinking of my trashy old PC. And gues what: Out in space I fly again... it is playable and a lot more fun... but... CQ...??? 6 FPS???
Dear CCP... if Dust runs on the same engine like CQ does, a lot of players will do the same like I did. Again. Disable it (or in Dusts case don't buy it). What is wrong with this coding, games looking much better runing much smoother? Is it AMD + ATI? Should it have been Intel + Nvidia? Sure, there are people ready to spent more on a PC out there, but I really expected more from this hardwareupgrade. I'm kind of disappointed.
And now flame on for Idiots talking to theire own twinks or calling everyone else peasants while proudly showing of their monocles. Yeah, yeah, and sorry for bad spelling. English is not my first language - most people understand what I'm trying to say.

Turn down the CQ-specific video options or just disable it until they optimize it.
Hopefully they will...hopefully.

Here is some stats for you. --- This is one of the moments where we look at what CCP does and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change |

CCP is on vacation right now. So they won't answer. The new framework is a disaster on the PC footprint, but they did promise that they would eventually get around to planning and considering a thought which when fully implemented will include information to the effect of being of a useful nature in the correct purchasing protocols and initiatives needed to make your game-play experience with the Carbon engine both viable at a minimal level as well as wonderful at a recommended level.
Those of us that used to multi-client have been told to go to hell. (more or less)
. I'm as mad as I can take it and I'm not going to hell anymore!
I have reassigned my money for CCP to other projects for the next 18 months... |

The ati 5450 is not really designed for gaming unfortunatly. A 3 year old 9800gt will completely destroy the 5450 which, if im not mistaken on the standard pcb is passively cooled. you need a better card imo everything else is ok.

Will try it out... I'm sure there are better GPU's out there. But looking at the min/recomended specifics of EVE don't help to much for this.
Thanks for helpfull comments!

Your bottleneck. HD4870, HD5770, HD6750 or better in any of those generations of ATI and CQ will work fine. Might not want to crank the graphics though as CQ will run your cards hot (to the point that the air coming from the graphics vent on my case feels like it is coming out of an oven - no I didn't keep it running like that for more than about 15 minutes and it was just to see what would happen).
This signature is useless, but it is red.

This. I never got to run CQ on my 9800GT's, but I don't imagine it would have been much of a problem to. ______________________
