So first of all I am a 1 1/2 months into Eve and I'm currently training up to do PVP. I'm beginning to understand the game mechanics and how skills and the various bonuses affect my gameplay. Right now I'm flying a Moa and am curious how to extend my targeting range. Right now I have Long range targeting, sharpshooter, and Sig analysis at level 3. However I can only lock target inside 31 KM. I'm guessing there is a skill I am missing and should also run sensor boosters.
Thanks

Only long range targeting affects lock range, which is a different thing than actually hitting at that range. T1 cruisers aren't generally known for their great lock ranges though. --- Drykor - AHARM |

Take off the warp core stabilizer; you should be well over 50 at that point.

I assume that is what the -50% scan resolution attribute is referencing

Actually, that's the other penalty. It means you target much more slowly. The one you're looking for is -50% targeting range.

Quote: The following skills affect your maximum number of active targets
Targeting up to 5 targets (requires Electronics I) Multitasking up to 10 targets total (additionally requires Targeting V)
One can target 2 ships from the beginnig, so it sjhould be up to 7 and 12 targets respectively.
If you've mentioned long range targeting, you should also mention signature analysis.
Same for ECM/dampeners combo.

The skill Long Range Targeting helps, as does the module Sensor Booster (especially if you buys a Range Script for it). Dropping the Warp Core Stab should bring you to 60-62 lock range depending on quality of the Stab.
That said, lock range and effective range are two completely different things, a cruiser level blaster may only be effective out to 10-15km even with the Moa bonus, so having a 60, 70, or 80km lock range is completely overkill on the Moa unless you are going for a Sniping Fit, which, TBH, I think may not be your best bet for PVP unless that is what the entire gang runs.

This...the only time I have really needed Long Range Targeting V was when in Sniper HAC and BS gangs. It is also very handy to have for Interceptors as well (The Ares, in my case), when you want to overheat a Warp disruptor. Long Range Targeting is worth getting to V eventually (IV should keep you happy for a while)...Sig Analysis V I would put before it though.
