Just a short list, but soo many games out there for the SNES. A little about how i made my list. Popularity, soundtrack, how many times i have played the games myself, and yes I got all 10 endings to Chrono trigger.
But this is just a personal list. Discuss! what do you think were the best games?

I like your list, but personally I think Zelda trumps every game ever. I beat that game so many times.

I couldnt fit everything on there, like illusion of gaia. super castlevania battletoads in battlemaniacs - even with cheats i still cant beat that game even eve is an easier game than that. killer instinct. But i had to make a top 10 to me which are my personal top 10. but with over 200 super nes games, there are just too many to choose from.

Chrono trigger vs donkey kong.
ok yeah that is debatable and it was hard to decide which one to put in the #3 spot. I kind of ranked DKC ahead because the way the technology was pushed on it. While yes CT is a great play, lots or replay value, it does lose some points on the generic square turn base rpg.
However, both of those spots could be interchangable very easily, heh. i love both of those games.
But hawk you are stupid why FF6?
22 characters, a really well written story, a super soundtrack. Plus a ton of character development, whether it be the brothers of sabin and edger re-uniting and becoming family again, the love story of locke and celes, or the story of a father and his daughter. There were just so many sub plots it made the game interesting.

Zelda III by far was the best game they made on SNES. That was back when Nintendo had game making down to an art. Super Metroid and Super Mario Kart were also one Nintendo's finest achievements. The rest of my top 10 would have to be Contra III, Star Fox, Secret of Mana, Illusion of Gaia, Sim City, Wing Commander, Out of This World & FFIII. (I claim ignorance for having never played Chrono Trigger or any of the other FF series....and I'm not even sure its III i played, it might have been II, overhead mode 7 and an airship intro were involved.)

I believe that was actually final fantasy 5. or known as mystic quest in the states.
Now as for the mario kart thing, sure it was innovative and fun but dont forget F-zero, if you want to do racing games.

Some of my best gaming memories are from them good o'days. Back when games were made to be fun, where graphics were not everything.
I still miss my old games to bad I had lost all of them, years ago.
I still get a desire to play some of the great classics.

I'm glad to see Secret of Mana, as that was one of my favorite childhood memories. I was heart broken that Seiken Desnsetsu 3 never made it to America. But then I was ecstatic that there were fans who translated the game. ----------
