I can't figure this out. Do all the faction ships on the market really come from people buying them from LP stores? Their LP/ISK ratio is abysmal. Who in their right mind...?
Or are they mainly coming from people who are building them from BPs from LP stores? I guess they are significantly more profitable that way?
Just curious

Good question. I am currently looking as a CNR in the LP store and I just dont see that 500 or 600k in LP happening in any sort of reasonable time frame. This is one of the reasons I have shifted my focus to the Tengu.

The ships in the Faction warefare corps LP-stores cost much less LP. You will also gain more LP by doing FW missions.
This is where most faction ships come from imo.

Specifically, Stealth Bomber pilots who do FW missions.
There's better ISK to be made looting tags from wrecks, and using them to purchase faction modules from the LP store, but the last thing you want to do in a Bomber with dozens of ships shooting at you is try to loot something. It's also too time consuming to try and clear the room in a SB.

Edited by: Kesshisan on 03/08/2011 15:57:41 Not everyone uses their LP/isk conversion for maximum conversion rates. Some of us have so much LP and isk we don't care about maximizing the conversion rates and use it as a form of convenience.
For example, if I want to get a faction ship, and it would cost me 200,000 LP, I could: 1) Do a bunch of research to figure out what item is selling for the most LP 2) Use ~200,000 LP to buy selected item 3) Move it to the nearest trade hub. 4) Play the 0.01 isk game 5) Repeat for a week or two until every item is sold. 6) Buy the faction ship from the market. 7) Move my faction ship to my missioning area.
Or I could just 1) Buy the faction ship I want using LP (and tags and the base hull, etc.)
When you have more than enough isk to be comfortable and more than enough isk coming in from multiple sources, you can afford to trade in your efficiency for laziness and not feel bad about not being 100% efficient with your LP.
Also remember that this is YOUR EvE. If you want to make a laser fit Dominix, you can. If you want to make a hybrid firing Tengu, you can. Don't let people tell you how to play your game. Just because something isn't the most efficient doesn't meat it shouldn't be done. Do realize that in some cases "not the most efficient" means getting blown up (aka losing a lot of isk.) In other situations you may not get blown up, but it may still mean losing a lot of isk. And so long as you can afford to lose that isk (or perhaps "trade" that isk for time) I wouldn't get too bent out of shape. Basically, if what I'm doing is not the most 100% efficient thing possible, I don't freak out about it.

Confirming I have bought my share of navy slicers and a navy geddon using LP. Damn the conversion rate.
It seems to me that selling the tags needed to purchase some if the juicy navy mods are just as profitable as procuring the item and selling it in most cases.

I sell navy megathrons constantly just out of laziness I guess. I don't know what would bring me the most isk but in a little over a week I usually have enough lp for one. I solo level 5's in an ishtar, I only do the super easy ones that take less than 10 minutes to complete, and I check 4 different lvl 5 agents as much as I can, which isnt much I rarely even play the game. But it pays for my account monthly and I have plenty left over for whatever else I want, which is nothing. No clue why I'm still playing lol I don't even talk to anyone.

I do nothing else with my missionrunners , usually when one of them hit the 600 k LP
Usually when i reach that number of lp s my standing with that corp also reaches something between 9.8 and 10 and it is time to move on to a new agent with a different corp and start ovez again ________________________________________ Minmatar are like jedi knights, we use ductape as our force, it has a darkside and a sticky side
