Odd title, allow me to clarify. In a comparison of doing the mission in a machariel and salvaging with another account at the same time with a noctis or blitzing the mission in a machariel and mining with another account, which would be better overall? Salvaging with a noctis takes quite a bit of focus away from blitzing the mission, it's not hard but there is a lot of clicking when you have 6 tractors pulling things in and you can lock 11 targets at once. However, mining is lolafk allowing me to blitz without losing any attention to my alt.
Which would be better overall? The isk/hour of mining is abysmal yes, which is why I may think that even with the increased attention requirement that mission + salvage would still be the superior option, though a lot more effort.
And no, two combat characters is not an option.

If you're bringing a Machariel to the party, then blitzing is the way forward. Remember that those LP really are worth something.
As far as the Noctis distracting you from your Angel murder-machine, my advice would be to be a little choosy about your salvaging/looting. Many rats have no salvage worth picking up. Some rats have way better loot than others. For a mission like "Right Hand of Zazzmataz" I wouldn't even bother bringing the Noctis in.

Right, but what do I do with my alt in the meantime? Thumb up its ass?

Zazz takes about 90 seconds. It's an example of an occasion where it's more efficient to just focus on flying your Mach.

You mean the one that can drop the 10m implant?
Missions with small numbers of ships can be worth looting/salvaging because they don't take very long to loot/salvage.

Very, very rarely, yes.

It might actually be close to the same. If you're really efficient at mining you'll get 7-10 mil/hr in high sec. That's about the same as what you can get looting/salvaging.
To get that total though you need to loot as well as salvage (not sure if you meant you were doing both or just salvaging).
The difference is probably small enough that you could just go with what ever you prefer personally IMHO. =============================== Two words: Internet Spaceships |

It depends on the mission. If u have to kill everything to complete the mission, go for salvage. (like AE, do salvage while you're clearing the next pocket) If u can leave some ships alive its usually not worth bringing your alt.
Mining is only good isk/hr if you have a hauler to avoid downtimes with your barge.

Yup, this too. If you're doing a mission that only has a few ships in each room then it's usually not worth the time to loot/salvage. It's your Worlds Collide or Extravaganza type missions where it becomes worth the time and effort. =============================== Two words: Internet Spaceships |
