ok i'll wait for the flames about my crybabyness afterwards....
the test server is pretty fail now. Its almost near impossible to test anything unless you get someone to move to a different system with you. The ffa's have been changed from ship class to "suggested ship class". Now you get douchebags sitting in the frig arena in capitals and faction bs's making it near impossible to fight anything small there. Also there is no battlefields for agreed fights. anyone can legally attack anyone anywhere.
for all the time ccp spend getting things ready for testing, it seems they would want an actual test server not somewhere for all the people with tiny pen1s's to go flex their internet spaceship muscles

well first off the test server wasnt ment for people to test their ships and fits its to test other aspects of the game, were just lucky that CCP let us use it for testing fits so just be greatfull of what we have already

While true, your statement fails to take into account a critical aspect of the testing process.
Without people to run as many possible aspects of gameplay through its paces, the testing is useless. And without incentive to do so, people will not participate.
In terms of the single most intricate system in the game (combat), the current set up is lacking quite a bit in terms of effective debugging. Unless you count a single group of players blobbing Supercaps and Faction BS as effective testing...
Now of course, the Mass Tests are a different story. But from a purely debugging aspect, you'd rather have steady participation across several instances over massive participation, once in a blue moon. |

Edited by: Eternum Praetorian on 09/08/2011 00:36:34 Why isn't two assault frigates fighting with various modules fitted onto them a "valid" test?
What benefit does having a carrier on grid neuting them to hell and back (just to irritate them) have over the former?

Because CCP want the environment in 6-C to be as close to TQ as possible (combat wise) which means you're going to get blobbed, outnumbered, outgunned etc. It allows for more possible scenarios than restricting certain ship-types to certain areas. You take the variety of ships and modules and testing situations and confine them to a subset of encounters which is not very conducive to testing bugs (which is the intention of the server).

If that were true, then a) there would be no market, and b) there would be no outside access to Sisi.
Since there is, and there are rules.....
Obviously it IS a place for people to test things out, public and CCP staff.
Needs a pool of dedicated volunteers to act as 'GMs' in Sisi to enfore the old rules IMO

Empire is part of the game... So so is low sec without doomsdays.
So it stands to reason that if what you say is true, and CCP wants the 6-C environment to be as close to tranquility as possible, there should be areas with capital ship limitations. Because that would be a better representation of Tranquility, right?
If SISI was 100% representative of Tranq the station would be bubbled all day long and gangs would be fighting for system control. Perhaps CCP should put the beacon area in a system where you can take sov? So people can spam free SBU's and siege free Ihubs all day long.
People like you are just arguing the "griefing U Mad" mentality that has flooded Singularity since they changed the rules. But you know what? I can argue the other side of the coin just as well.
