Finally figured out that Cricket sucks, huh? Amazon sales - LINK Are they hanging on the edge of their seat, wondering who is going to win the pennant race this year? Cheering for those loveable losers, the Pittsburgh Pirates?

so, how do they expect to get it shipped? i've never seen a mailman/delivery person brave a riot before.
this smells like remarkably short sighted buying behaviour.

I think it's more that nobody cares what happens to a baseball bat, but polluting the noble Cricket bat by allowing it to come into even the most momentary contact with a chav is just not acceptable.
Besides, cricket bats are more expensive. -

Yes, because rioting idiots with baseball bats are clearly worse than rioting idiots with guns...

Its rather rare to see violent rioters with guns. ussually the guys with guns are the ones protecting their property at a riot scene.

Business owner + pump shotgun + rioters = dead chav
Rioters + guns = military response & lots of dead chavs.
Either way, we win.

You have any solid evidence for this wild claim?
People over in my country can own guns, and judging from those I know that do I'm sad to say 8 out of 10 fit into the 'nutjob' category in one way or another.
More guns available to the population means more guns on the streets in case of riots, thats pretty easy math. And that includes previous owner lying on the street with his skull bashed in and the new owner trading his bat for the gun.
Outgunned police forces is not what you need in these situations.

Here in the UK Baseball is called Rounders and is almost entirely played by girls.
Same for American Football. Here it's called Rugby only without all the gay body armour and nut cups....
But yeah Baseball bats here are only used for cracking skulls.

Oh, I'm sorry I should have been a bit more clear about the 'solid' part, and the 'evidence' part. I didnt want to make it sound like I was interested in lobbyist propaganda that lacks the above mentioned.
My bad, I apologize.

Just a thought, but judging by the scrawny appearance of rugby players, I did some quick research on a hunch. Seems Rugby Forwards are heavier than Backs at an average of 99kg (218 lbs). The average NFL player weighs 248 lbs, with the heaviest position (offensive tackle) averaging 318 lbs.
Along the way I also found this interesting link

I think you somehow dont understand the question.
As far as the source goes, I'll give you credit for not linking another openly lobbyist propaganda piece, but it kinda escapes me why you'd link to that specific article.
A 15 year old girl, unarmed, by mistake (aka trigger happyness) being assaulted and subsequently shot in the back by a shop owner while trying to buy groceries being one of the prime causes for mass riots is a pretty good argument for strict gun-control regulations I would say.

I live in the US Congressional district with the highest rate of gun ownership in the US
We all feel pretty safe. We havent had any riots pop up. The only time I remember one nearby was one night in a college town some drunk guys burned a car and mad a scene in a street - they didnt bring any guns.
Probably the biggest reason is that its pretty much sucide to to go to a riot with a gun.

OK...get it..you don't like guns. But you asked for a source and you received it. The previous poster is correct. You are more likely to come face to face with a armed proprietor than an armed rioter. It doesn't really matter though, because you'll reject any evidence out of hand based on the media and political agendas.

Not at all, I'm not gun crazy by any means but didnt have a problem with them during my military service. I actually enjoyed shooting the G3 tbh.
What I do have a problem with is guns in the hands of civilians.
Also, I asked for a reliable source proving mass quantities of firearms in in civilians hands do not mean more guns being used by rioters. Solid facts mind you, not anecdotes.
I havent seen anything substantial in that regard yet, all we've seen so far strongly suggests civilian gun ownership is a bad idea in case of riots as it means more guns on the streets in a highly volatile situation.

don't you pay attention to the news? Its because of the race-riots in Britain, where blacks are rioting, looting, and robbing people (including forcing people to take off their clothes)

Some of the comments on those baseball bats are freakin hilarious.
"Pretty good for using on looters, firm grip"
"Also doubles as a bat for playing rounders"
Lots of self-defense/2nd Amendment/lol at the pathetic disarmed Brits comments as well.

I think the onus of proof would be on you. We live in a country where guns are literally everywhere its our observation that guns arent used much at all in riots. If your so sure that our experiences are wrong - how about presenting some examples of rioters using using guns in a western nation?
The only a few western nations have massive gun ownership. None of them frequently have serious riots. The last major riot in the US was the Rodney King riots in LA, I do remember that the there were almost no stories of rioters using guns and many stories of people guarding property with guns. Any rioter who trys to even flash gun is always the first target of police and property owners tend to shoot them.
Wherever you went - Here you are.
