Hi
Using missiles and would like to know which T3 ships might have certain resistance holes ?
I know some people fit higher kinetic dmg but that is as far as i can be sure.
This for WH roaming gangs too !
thanks for insights

Their natural resistances are similar to HACs from the same race. Depending on subsystems they may also have 25% added resists to all armor or shield aspects. Then they'll plug the natural hole with a tank mod. Expect 70-90% resists across the board for whichever tank type they're likely to use.

Even then a legion can have +200k ehp on the lowest resist. And this is similar for all T3's with max buffers. Tengu being the best for EHP + DPS/Range. All T3's have battleship tanks depending on the sub used. A well tanked T3 used as a bait ship will take you ages to kill. |

most people will pimp their T3s as well, so you can be up against faction EANMs or Deadspace shield boosters. My advice is to bring freinds rather than try and choose the right ammo. On the other hand I fly amarr I always choose EM/Thermal and have had good luck with it vs tengus. -------------

Basic advice on resistances, pretty much.
This all assumes you apply equal damage YOURSELF with each type, and are not, in say, a Drake:
T1: Shoot for second lowest natural resist for their tank. Thermal against shields, kinetic against armour. Why? People tend to omni tank + plug the resist hole, leaving the second hole overall slightly lower.
T2: Shoot for second lowest natural resist for their tank (same logic as above) Avoid the T2 resists if at ALL possible: Resist buffs per race: Minmitar: EM/Therm Amarr: Explosive/Kinetic Gallente: Kin/Therm Caldari: Therm/Kin
Shooting T3 ships is a lot like shooting T2 ships. Bear in mind, however, that their setup counts for a LOT more than the resist profile. e.g. an active tank tengu can permatank enough damage to leave a small gang blue-balled. Stick a couple of neuts on it, and you're laughing instead. A gang of RR tengu's will laugh at your neuts (you can't keep them all down) but will cry "NERF ECM!!" if you use it to bonk them on the head.
Tactics, situational awareness and accute determinations will help you fighting T3 ships, more so than others.
Having said that, 90% of T3 ships really only adhere to a few setups. Trawl battleclinic and have a look at what they're likely fit as. Maybe even suicide a ship to scan it -------

All excellent advice, however you don't need to suicide in order to scan a ship. Just chill outside Jita with a cheap frigate and a ship scanner, and after 20 or 30 minutes you'll see tons of T3 loadouts. Just remember, about half of them will be mission tanks - though you can usually tell which ones are which because of webs/scram.

You are right, of course, but the OP was specific in asking about WH PVP, not ganking or attacking mission Tengus. My suggestion he "suicide scanned" was because my assumption was that any ship passing by and taking a sneak peak, wouldn't be around very long if he was doing this in a WH
i.e. if there is one Tengu in particular you're trying to kill, get in range in an otherwise unfit T1 frig, scan it, and warp away of you can, or accept the inconsequential loss for an information parcel.
Once the OP has more experience with T3, he will be able to recognise the subsystem configs from the ship shape. A surprisingly brilliant tactical advantage. If you can see the ship (you're cloaked on grid perhaps) then even without this experience, you can play "match the ship shape" using the preview window and see which subsystems are used. -------
