Hello guys I was wondering about all this rioting going on about the noble store. And I was thinking of letting ccp put some game changing items ,not severe changing items but I'll galdly buy some jove tech for aurum. if however that's too much. I was thinking on the captain quarters now my main dream about the noble store, is this the captains quarters are too tiny if ccp in the next incarna expansion let's us buy parts to a house, say 4 rooms your choice of design for a few thou aurum will be very cool. Also the ability to make your own pet for a fee of aurum of corse that will be the best thing in eve ever. I know that people hate game changing items and it makes sense but this ability to make a home in eve is the best thing that will happen to this game

Is there any structure to this or did you just vomit the contents of your brain onto the keyboard?

NO.
And go back to WoW if you want pets to follow you around. There's no reason at all that AUR should be able to change actual gameplay at all. Houses wouldn't be an issue, since they wouldn't affect gameplay, but it still shouldn't be done because it'd require taking developers off of the actual game and having them work on pointless fluff.

Game changing items being sold for real life money has had a rather negative effect on games as I have noticed. Runescape, a game I used to play a long time ago, once considered cutting off said services because they had to deal with so many cases of fraud. People were stealing credit cards and racking up several hundreds or thousands of dollars in subscriptions, items, and other stuff. So CCP may simply not want to deal with that hassle, because if someone complained they would have to ban accounts, refund items and other such nonsense, plus there may be legal ramifications of said activities.
Not to mention I've seen other games that have once been pure and wholesome and the DEVs actually cared about the game itself and not the money that came from it (I know of several examples, but cannot remember their names for the life of me), and then they released game changing items for RL money and the game deteriorated from there as the DEVs switched priorities.
And how many games have this function and the top 10 players on these games spent money (and not little amounts) to get where they are. Do you want to play a game where the person who spends the most is the best? Enough said because I'm sure many people have made this argument on this topic.
The houses idea has merit, but I don't think it should be considered simply because of the uselessness of the function. I personally would rather see functional game items worked on than something aesthetically pleasing, and I'm sure many other gamers would feel the same way. This community seems to have a different attitude than the normal consumeristic lemming attitude seen in other MMO's *cough* WoW *cough*, but as I'm new and my experience with the community at large has been thus far limited I'm probably not the best judge of character.
Food for Thought -Mr. Gb -Fetch me another plaything this one seems to be broken. |
