Greetings,
Dear CCP... my life in HS is just too easy, I think you should take the follow actions to ensure that my HS life is cut-short and that I must leave it - a grand disporia to null of the un-washed.
1. Please remove the single L4 agent (or all agents) from the stations in my system. 2. Remove the only ice field in it, making sure I never even consider a POS in HS, not that I would at this point anyway. 3. Remove all ore but veldspar from the system... I feel Kernite to Scordite is just too insanely easy to make billion... million... er... some ISK mining... HS doesn't need ISK... we need foodstamps!... well time-stamps! 4. Remove my drone bay from my Hulk, This is clearly too powerful, drones on a miner ship? with lasers? - nerf-bat is calling. Also Miner drones!... what is this! adding that huge extra yield!... NERF, NERF!!! 5. Remove all moons! exploration sites, and planets! - POS, Exploration and PI are wrecking HS and EVE... banish them and make Null there true home! 6. Remove any rats!... the insane drops are another huge issue... the T1 webber is the clear culprit here!... NERF!!!!
... this is an open letter, as I think of more insanity in my HS system I will add it. I hope that we can get HS back to reality, as it is I can almost just make a PLEX a month with the help of a few friends and mining 9-10Hs at time!... clearly INSANE!

If you had balls you would post this in the assembly hall and see how many people support it.
I agree high-sec has it way too easy at the moment.
Shrink high-sec, add more low & null.
Remove mining, ice and POS from high sec.
Keep level 4 agents but reduce their payout to %10 of current payout in high sec.
Raise NPC taxes to 50%, halve research and manufacturing slots.
Remove all trade of items above meta 2 and all contracts from high sec.
Allow corps to be 'grief' free in high sec so wardecs do not apply.
Remove exploration from high sec. How often do you make valuable 'discoveries' in the high-street?
Enforce drafting of players to combat incursions and charge players committing war crimes and draft-dodging.

i find it funny that the "oh so smart ppl" don't realize once they nerf highsec into oblivion and everyone comes to 0.0 they just nerved 0.0 into oblivion too.
If you can't figure out why that is, you fit the "oh so smart ppl" group, enjoy.

i find it funny that CCP wants to keep losing subs.
not everyone likes to PVP, not everyone like feeling paranoid.
and not everyone like safety, and being a care-bear,
both ways of life need ways to make ISK. nerfing one to hell isn't going to make the other better. its just means a small portion will move there because they feel forced, and a larger portion wont move at all/quit.
at one time i wanted to venture into null-sec. i really did, the sound of a lawless space sounded awesome. instead all i heard were horror stories of 20 man gate camps and alliances treating people like **** if they didn't have the ability to pvp with the best.
are these true? i don't honestly know, but that first impression damaged my want more than any lack of movement or lack of safety. so instead i fly in highsec, doing level 3/4 missions and going on the occasional roam. because its more fun that being treated like dirt because i mine or mission ôWhat we imagine is order is merely the prevailing form of chaos.ö

Nothing is stopping you from remaining in high-sec.

Edited by: Leana Akachi on 16/08/2011 09:25:40 Well honestly, i am kinda burning out on eve. I had 1-2h playtime a day before, now i dont log in for days aside skill related logins. CCP advertises this game as a sandbox where you do what you want....keyword "advertisement".
So take a regular carebear. Easy style play, not much risk, reward depends on how much they play. Some of them are more than happy to earn for a plex and lay low then.
If or when, they push people in lowsec its swim or sink learning PVP system, when they get ****d in lowsec, most of those will join some nullsec corp/alliance for protection and security, where they get the awesome fleet action that results in lag fests and other side blobing the living crap of the node, or dropping 10 titans and 30 SCs on a fleet of 100 drakes :) Or they only rat and chain belts, ignoring CTAs and get kicked out on low attendance, or corp/alliance get owned.
Of (lets say) 100 carebears, how much of them will quit? Just for fun let 50% (and i am generous here) of them adapt to low/null, rest is going back to hisec to do L3 missions for scraps. Figuring out that they need to invest a lot more gametime might be a turnoff for them, some will say screw it i go back to wow (or whatever). Survival of the fittest i guess.
So player migration aside, right now we have a crapload of systems where bots run 23/7 undisturbed. Problem that plagued eve for a long time, so to fight back on bot-war lets buff nullsec rewards... i am honestly not seeing the positive side on this issue. Dont get me wrong, i have nothing against the buff to low/null, but isn't this gonna reward bots even more?

OK, I'll bite. Let's say that hi-sec becomes somewhere where only new players want to be, and everyone else heads out to nullsec - how does this "nerve" 0.0?
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

I completely agree some steps need to be taken to make Nullsec more attractive - But it needs to become more attractive ON ITS OWN, not in contrast to other things by making those other things LAME.
No Ice and LVL 4 agents in Highsec... is this REALLY the cause for the vacancy in NullSec... come on. the most recent changes to SOV mechanicas have more to do with the NullSec issue than anything - industry and trade comes after that. HiSec ICE should not even be on the radar. =========================

I don't know anything about Null sec or low sec per se, But what I do know, is gate campers are stopping people migrating into low sec. I was one such victim of a gate camping mission. This has stopped me migrating sooner.
Remove the ability to camp gates, and I think you will have a bigger migration into low. Then onto null. All them "carebears"(including me) out mining in lo sec. Just because they managed to actually get into low sec.
There are those, including me; that actually want to go into lo sec. But taking an Orca chock full of goodies, is risky business

Edited by: Mendolus on 16/08/2011 15:58:15 You know, after nearly four years now of watching people with no idea what they are actually asking for harp again and again on high security, and being a null dweller myself, I would almost love to see CCP literally remove any reason for high sec dwellers to continue playing this game just to see null sec dwellers shock and disbelief at how the game changes and not for the better.
You know, this works both ways too, I'd love to see all the high sec dwellers that think 0.0 is some diabolical fantasy land where everyone is dying at every moment, see what happens to this game if 0.0 is completely hosed and taken out of the equation, for them to see just how quickly the rest of the game shrivels up without the stark social and demographic contrast present between 0.0 and high security.
Anyone who thinks either high sec or null sec should be turned into a wasteland to benefit the other, is kidding themselves.
This game would not be EVE if you did not have one or the other, that is the way of it.
It also never ceases to amaze me when I watch one person tell another what they should find fun or not. How legitimate.
Also, @OP, +1!
