So some people seem upset about some changes in eve. I have only recently returned to the game. I'm kinda ****ed about the new hangers but CCP supposedly has plans to give the option to change them back. I don't mind the "vanity" items but I feel there's more to it...
anyone care to fill me in?

They are not changes just ideas , it says so at the start of the devblog and you are encouraged to write your opinion and/ or other ideas about null sec in several feedbackthreads
Some people like myself reacted badly to them , till i reread them and had a couple days time to think about them and read other people thoughts on them

Most of the hysteria if you can call it that is what I like to call "pre-emptive panic". Another words, a Dev posts an idea they might implement in some distant future and players come on the forum and act like it was implemented a year ago and is already ruining the game. Its like this wierd projection thing.
Technically speaking none of the stuff that is causing the hysteria has actually happened yet.
1. Nex store still only sells vanity items and their are no plans to add any game changing items into the game.
2. CQ can be disabled and is not forced on anyone, you can basically ignore the entire dilema of problems caused by it.
3. None of the changes proposed in the Dev blog have even been put into the planning phase of development, they are all "things we are thinking about with the question put to the community to see what they think"
Hence, the hysteria is just mostly hypothetical "what if they do this", but if you read the forums you kind of get the impression like its already happened.
Personally I agree with many of the sentiments and I support the protest because if nothing else its good to see that the community is united on many fronts and are talking about the issues, I just wish it was more constructive than "Do it my way or I quit".
Right now we are in "talk about it and wait and see mode", the fact that CCP is discussing it with the player community might be an indicator that the recent protests and exodus of accounts (5000+ accounts according to cancelation thread) has had an impact, which I think is a good thing.
So while many of the protest are rather pre-emptive, I think they where nescessary to get CCP's attention and I support them 100%. But personally I don't see any reason to cancel my account, I love playing the game, its the same old Eve both good and bad, but as I always say when I judge other games "Its just not as good as Eve" and as long as thats the case about every other game out their I will be playing Eve.

I see you in love to word hysteria Thornat. You mention that word many times. That's first indication of hysterical mentally unstable person. You project your own illness into entire community. So first of all go see psychiatrist. He will help you. We don't need your attempts to put any kind of stigma on community and it is also insulting to read the ***t you write. And yes I do expect your apology to community.

Hysteria is not a mental illnes, it's a state of mind. What Mr. Freud (not a medical professional btw.) tried to diagnose as a possible medical condition was just a gross misunderstanding of gender specific behaviour. Those times are just politely smiled on in modern psychiatrics or psychology...
Whatever - mental illness? stigma? insulting?, MMOs? internet spaceships? no connection? reality check?
Nothing wrong with a healthy dose of mental illness anyway...
