Fix Lag

Seeing as CCP wants to hit wormhole mining with the nerfbat for no apparent reason other than all the CSM are from nullsec and think that would be a grand idea, and also since this particular graph was generated once before, I think it would be awesome if CCP were to release a graph of where all minerals in the game come from. Having it adjusted to not count the modules most commonly used for compression through manufacturing and recycling(ask your nullsec CSM about this one) would be a good idea this time.
In addition, I think it would be nice to see this graph again as judging by the latest ore prices mining has become essentially the most worthless task ever. My question is, why? It's not just the fact that it's pretty much afk-able in highsec. There are a crapton of minerals coming in somewhere besides through mining and that should be adjusted downwards.
Also, nerf highsec mining. TIA

Edited by: Ceelah on 19/08/2011 00:48:34 +1 for holding capricious devs accountable for endless game mechanics meddling.
+2 for useless nullsec CSM. You guys should run for public office where your lack of insight and general disregard for your constituents would serve you well.
OP You should've quit while you were ahead. You lost me at "nerf hisec mining".
How about if we don't f@ck with any of the existing mineral and resource mechanics and see if we can get simple things like an "Open Cargohold" button that doesn't reside three menus deep. Or, just for sh*ts and giggles, how about if we find a way to not use up more system resources than Quake does at high settings just for an ugly ass door? |

Okay so maybe the nerf highsec mining thing was a tad on the troll side.
But I was serious about getting that "Mineral Origins" graph. I know it can be done.

My guess would be highsec produces the most. It's easier to do mining ops there and there's hundreds of dedicated mining corps/alts floating around plus whatever gets reprocessed from missions even though CCP nerfed loot drops last year.

Judging by the levels of butthurt I would have to surmise that all the minerals are coming from Uranus. ~~~

Why do people care so much about ore again? There are good changes to be made in EvE for sure but mining seems really alright to me. Highsec miners make about 1/2 of what lowsec miners make which is like 1/7th what a nullsec miner can make and a wormhole miner is somewhere between lowsec and nullsec because they must have ice fuel to exist and don't get it in the hole but do get nullsec ores. This is quite balanced in the current scheme of things. If anything really really has to change, then they should just take ice out of highsec, this would be a very good tweak to balance this so called issue with getting ABC's in wormholes because wormhole dwellers would have to pay their price. Also all this talk of bots have you ever seen a damn highsec ice belt, normal people don't mine ice.

Disregarding the stupidity here I would love to know where minerals come from in quantity broken down by sec status and refinery vs mining etc. Probably the most interesting statistic I have not heard.

Useless fact:
CCP used the number 42 for the EVE Universe seed. ----------

You gotta love the search function. They really should make the font on the word SEARCH a lot bigger.
Regardless of where the ore is coming from one thing is for sure, their are a lot of bot miners out their which is exactly why I have dedicated the last few nights to raiding and stealing from them relentlessly. Oddly enough I still get the tears and nerd rage in game, even from the obvious bots. Steal from them six or seven times before they realize it and on the 8th time suddenly their outraged about theft which coincdently only motivates me more.
I think the best way to handle this problem is for old timers to get back to some of those classic ops like can flipping and theft to get the message across.

Low end minerals are mainly coming from backwater highsec constellations .high end minerals mostly from null sec
You would be suprised how many miners are willing to sell their mineralsrelative cheap I used to put up buy orders for the common minerals in several backwater systems far away from the major trade hubs You know those systems with low population but plenty of belts Buy orders of 100 mil units of tthe common minerals fill up within a week So with several buy orders. Just a matter of collecting your minerals to a central point and then ship them to a trade hub Nothing lucrative and the return profit is ok i guess but relative safe investment
That is where i suppose most of tge low end minerals come from
