Edited by: Lyn Farel on 20/08/2011 22:13:17 I, Lynara Marya Farel of the noble Farel family, last member of the family and current governor of its lands on Janus V in the Ammatar Mandate, hereby announce that I definitly resign from my position of head of the family, and renounce to my Holder title that I embraced two years ago after the death of Marya Altarea Farel, last Holder of the House. I am now free of my Holder's Oath and call it the end of the bloodline, as I am the only remaining Farel relative still alive. Thus, the Farel family is now closed, and dating to this day belongs to the long History of the Mandate holder families.
By the Imperial and Ammatar laws, all the properties of the House are now temporarily being transfered under the care of the Mandate administrative authorities, waiting to be bought by another family. If no agreement is reached in the coming month, they shall eventually fall into the care of the Mandate itself.
By this declaration, I am now free of all my obligations to the Mandate and the Empire, and now only tied to capsuleer laws. In spite of this, I remain faithful to the Scriptures and my beliefs.
Lyn Farel.
NB: Please note that the Holder title here refers to its common derived meaning, and not to the first original meaning reserved to the nobles of True Amarrian descent. |

Edited by: Valkarth Tlakotani on 22/08/2011 04:55:40 I Valkarth Rayana Tlakotani of the union of Khanid and Miriya do hereby declare my intent as a holder of Janus V. I shall abide by all Amarr laws and requirements of common Holders. I shall abide by all requirements of my Kotani heritage. With the pleasure of the Empress the Holy Jamyl Sarum I shall abide in the holdings for up to half a year. By the pleasure of his Majesty Khanid II my brother Tselin Nyai hiTlakotani shall abide at the royal court of Khanid for the same time. By grace and blessing of the Amarr Empire and the Khanid Kingdom shall my family hold this land. It is in the name of the best relationships between our peoples that I take up the Holder Oath. [With thanks to Gavit Torash]
Valkarth Tlakotani -\/
Praecinge me, Domine, cingulo puritatis, et exstingue in lumbis meis humorem libidinis: ut maneat in me virtus venerationis et muneris.
Redde mihi, Domine, Avetat corona immortalitatis, quam perdidi in praevaricatione primi parentis: et, quamvis indignus accedo ad tuum sacrum mysterium, merear tamen gaudium sempiterum.

It wouldn't shine a bright light on you if you'd forgo the proper procedure before declaring yourself holder of some place.
As I know for sure that there have been other parties interested in the acquisition of the former Farel holdings on Janus V, I doubt highly that the question of succession has already been settled in this matter. I'm certain the Mandate administrative authorites would've let me known otherwise.
Therfore I don't see your claim to holdership as legitimate in anyway and my lawyers are prepared to defend that stance of mine.

Edited by: Lyn Farel on 22/08/2011 12:10:42 Ms Tlakotani,
As much as your zeal in the matter is greatly appreciated - including by the proper authorities - as said above and in the conversation I had with you yersterday, the last word concerning the legacy of the domain is reserved to the Ammatar consulate local bureau.
However, I ultimately own the right to decide of the legacy of my old holdings (much like a testament). That said, and considering that a lot of potential buyers are only local Holders that are no match for the capsuleers interested in the transaction, I might have a proposal for you that could satisfy every party.
Respectfuly, Farel. |

What's this?
Good on you for sticking to your faith and loyalties, but I question why you're resigning your position? Did you discuss this with your ancestors and would this action dishonor them? ~~~~~~~~~~~

It is unfortunate to see another Holder family die and relinquish its holdings. However, I do wish Miss Farel well in her future endeavors through faith and obedience in God and Empress.

Since this land and property are apparently now available, I would like to throw my own hat in for 'succession' or whatever you Amarrians would call it. I think the title 'Holder' has a nice ring to it, anyway.
My own qualifications for this appointment are as follows: 1.) I am already wealthy.
Since that's almost exactly the same as anyone else applying for the position, I think that makes me an excellent candidate.
Long live Holder Fate! |

Ever heard the term, "Don't judge a book by it's cover?" May wish to analyze the meaning of that one. Sure as the stars I'm no theologian, but I think there's a bit more to the Scriptures than social structure and political powermongering, I mean...look how many books they have!
Besides, the lass says she's given up her social standings and adhering only to her own personal beliefs and the Scriptures, which seem to have a multitude of interpretations. ~~~~~~~~~~~

My intent has been my only declaration. As I am a cyberknight of Khanid, the promises that I have declared must be first approved by the Imperial court of Amarr and the Royal court of Khanid. After speaking to Ms. Farel yesterday I was made aware that the renewed friendship between Amarr and Khanid would render cross border holdings plausible. Even if the application does not work out, I will have tried and in good faith placed trust in God, the Empress and the Khanid royal court. May this situation be seen in the light of peaceful cooperation and not in the light of political maneuvering. Ms. Farel, I await your pleasure in this matter as I await the pleasure of the Mandate. -\/

Well, there's a difference to declare ones intent as Holder of an estate or the intent to become the holder of it. So, I hope this was merely a problem with communications there.
Also, the Kingdom has been ire-integrated into the Empire as a Kingdom of the Empire. Thus, it's hardly cross-border. The Kingdom belongs to the Empire.
Anyway: Regards, N. Mithra _

Edited by: Valkarth Tlakotani on 22/08/2011 21:14:24 Clarification is good for the soul. Indeed some of our formal speech can give wrong impressions, for that I apologize. As for cross border, the reintegration of the Kingdom has still left some formalities in legal terms. Unfortunately for our Galliente friend, one must be from a holder family to qualify. You could work your way up if you applied as a slave for salvation and your family were then eventually freed in a few centuries, I suppose. I'm not clear on the regulations. As for how we dress... matters of the flesh are secondary to those of the soul. At the front line we have few moments to communicate in formal court attire. -\/

Whilst she flies for KotMC who fight for Amarr, her personal thoughts and feelings are frankly irrelevant. Her actions still support that empire.
To claim otherwise would be the height of hypocrisy. Like me walking down a street and blowing an innocent child's head off and then saying your can't blame me, I love children.

Lady Farel, I will also express my interest in your former holdings. I am a minor holder in the Kingdom with a successful planetary business that has allowed the creation of a minor space corporation. I wish to see a full listing of assets and property, as well as a beginning price, before confirming my interest. If you cannot find me in pod, I check my mail regularly. I await your response.

Please know that I am a bit surprised to see so many people willing to acquire the property. It was not the first purpose of this message - which was mostly informative for my resignation, for political reasons.
Now though, I already promised to Templar Mithra even before this announcement that I would be honored for her Holders to take care of the holdings. Having spoken with Ms Tlakotani, it also seems that her khanid family was before all willing to create a bond and open relations with the Mandate and the Empire itself before acquiring the whole holdings.
In that regard - and my apologies if there was a doubt remaining on the status of the holdings - the Farel domain will soon be transfered under the care of the Mithra family in the proper delay imposed by the local administration. A part of the contract specifies that a decent place for a trading post shall be reserved to the exclusive use of the Tlakotani family, being financially and economicaly independant, but tied to the new Holder's internal laws.
Now that the transaction has been discussed here, the proper value of the holdings are still being estimated by the Mandate officials. Main assets are listed below :
- The main estate, of a good historical value (dating back to the first Ammatars), and all the furniture and equipement still in activity, including a landing pad - The new crystals and metal deposits that have been surveyed in the surrounding mountainous area, making the depleted old ones obsolete - The mammal fauna resources present in quantity in the steppes - A good portion of unused lands adaptable for plantation, like in the past
You will note that this is mainly a desert land at the moment, knowing the derelict state it was in before.
Edit : for information on the planet itself, please refer to the CONCORD database. The domain archipelago is located in the polar north region, where the temperature is acceptable (for an average of 40ŚC).

I am sorry to say this, but lands in the Empire can only be ruled by either families of Holders, or the Imperial administration itself. I am afraid the Mandate will never be able to accept such an offer.

The transfer has been officialized and is now on its way to completion. The Mandate Consulate has judged the Mithra family worth of the acquisition and the fees to validate the transfer have been paid to the legal authorities.
My best wishes to your family, and to Ms Tlakotani, in their endeavors.

As a fellow Holder who inherited from another who gave it up, I congratulate you.
I'd be glad to give any advice if needed. You will be surrounded by many other Holders who will be quite upset at your presence, and the missed opportunity to gain your holdings. They will oppose you, some sloppily. Try not to have them killed...it can take a great deal of restraint sometimes.

I'm happy to hear that the Mandate Consulate has judged my family worthy of the acquiring the holdings for our lords.
Though the Mithra family will administrate the holdings for now in the name of our lords, as is their wish, I'd like to stress that by no means does the Mithra family lay claim of the title of Holder - we're meek servents to our Sarumite lords, the Empress and God.
