I've been selling an item over the market (in a very quiet region) where I am the only seller of the item. I've been bumping the item price up so my item would always be 20% regional average. this has been going well until today the regional average has suddenly changed and my item is now priced 250% above regional average.
I checked the price history tab but no other items have been sold. anybody know what this is about?

Edited by: Tasko Pal on 21/08/2011 08:49:44 One possibility is a massive transaction below market price, perhaps in some attempt to manipulate the market. If that's the case, you should see it in your market activities for recent days. Alternately, someone's old very high priced transactions just slid off the horizon. Either way, this sounds like something you can exploit since you have a fair idea of what the item should cost while the casual trader won't.

Step one, Post buy order for 10,000,000 of the item at .01 ISK per item 5 jumps in all directions.
Step Two, Log into alt and sell yourself that 10,000,000 of those items at .01 ISK
Step three, Wait for it to become 250%

The price history table is not 100% accurate. Outlier data is filtered out. It is possible for transactions to take place and never show up there.

While filtering outliers is reasonable, and a fair degree of keeping the mechanics vaguely withheld also makes sense, they really could come up with better systems for this sort of thing that ignore offer prices, elminitate outliers, and vet the number's a bit againts a jita 4-4 _median_ transaction price perhaps doing some data smoothing using that together.
