Works based on the fact that a prop mod won't make you more maneuverable than a rifter, but that a cap booster will make you much more survivable.
Damage Control II Adaptive Nano Plating II 2x Small Armor Repairer II
Small Capacitor Booster II, Navy Cap Booster 400 Faint Warp Disruptor I
3x 200mm AutoCannon II, Whatever Republic Fleet / T2 ammo you want Small Energy Neutralizer II
2x Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I Small Anti-Explosive Pump I
yes it is true that this ship is slow and that something can try to run away from you. however, in frigate pvp, the point to try and run is either right at the start or not at all. The punisher is still fast enough to follow you if you break and run during the fight, firing barage up yer arse while you have 0 transversal velocity unless you have a stupidly high amount of tank. Speaking of high amount of tank high resists + dual rep can handle most anything a frigate level enemy can throw at you, for sustainability my cap runs out in 25s if I perma-run everything, but the cap is 500 and I have 400 charges that I can use approximately once every 16 seconds or so. basically extends the cap out 8x and 400s is plenty long enough to kill something with autoguns.
basically, the fit takes advantage of the metagame right now of fast, easy to kill rifters that like to fly really close to you and make tracking a pain.

Works in theory or you have kill stats to back it?
Not a troll, just curious about actual application. Sustained Damage |

Edited by: Vuiko Tarasovich on 22/08/2011 12:46:18 Tried it out and am sorry to say, unless you have a tackle buddy it's hard to stop people from running away.
along with the jaguar, I have also fought and won against a punisher in a friendly hull duel and a rifter in a fight to the death which he ran away from.
that being said, I've never lost this thing in a fight, but it's really hard to generate kill mails.
(edit, yes lol failfit armor jag)

If you fit a scrambler instead of a disruptor you can kill all close range dictors (and some cruisers) so long as they are not dual proped...
Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

It should be pretty impossible to kill this in 1v1 against most other frigates, but anyone with a prop mod will be able to disengage. An AB frigate should be able to move out of barrage falloff in 8-10 seconds from a starting distance of zero meters, and beyond energy neut range in 5-7 seconds. That's what? 4 volleys from the guns and one cycle of the neut?
It just seems to me that without additional support this setup just cannot apply itself efficiently. On the other hand, as a supporting tackler itself for heavier hitting ships it should work pretty well. |
