Edited by: 2ippy on 24/08/2011 13:07:36 By using a can you can fit more cap boosters in your cargo for example Try it
Edit: It doesn't work with every ship, and It's not always worth it.

It can also be used to prepare the next load of ammo for your weapon systems if you intend to move to a new ammo type.
You keep the slew of different ammo types in the can, so they are hidden from your reload menu, and only the next ammo type you want the guns to load are in the cargo bay.
Not sure how useful that is however, I tend to die before the first loadout is done.

It used to be that if you had "stuff" in the can and one stack of ammo in cargo then it was 50:50 which would drop - the can contents or the ammo. I have no idea at all whether that's still true, nothing decent ever drops for me anyway

When I'm exploring, I keep anything nice I find locked down inside a Small Audit Log can. Not only does it save space (extra 20m3 of cargo), but if someone does manage to kill me, they can't open the can because there's a password on it so they don't get any of that loot atleast.

If I feel like a total ***** and can't open it, I will shoot it until its gone. Ya, I'm like that...but I'm not the only one lol. So except the "get extra space", its not worth it with this subject.
But if you hauling then yes it is useful to use cans but thats another subject. --------------------------------------------------

The maximum time the container can remain secure is 21 days. All you need to do it wait it out, then repackage once the timer is up.
Stuff then pops out like candy :) ---------------

Can in Cargo is usually for more cap boosters. Most often found in BS fleets for RR or active tank pilots.
As for unanchored audit cans...anybody can scoop them and get them opened at station. It was essentially abandoned and when you scoop it it's yours. In station you can right click it and "recover password".

I use them to stash new Scorch/Conflag/faction crystals. Saves clutter and prevent guns for derping a new sets instead of re-loading a used one. Dem guns be loading whatev' they damn well please, yo.

Hey, Scorp. Long time.
I use the can in a hold for extra cargo space in a hauler. I (my alt) can get 6 GSCs into an Iteron IV, thus increasing its effective cargo capacity by 30%.
Also, when you get popped, the cans will not be anchored, and thus any passwords on the cans are irrelevant. You could launch and anchor them before you get popped. But most folks are concentrating on other thing, like not getting popped, or even killing the other guy.
