...between Dominix, Geddon or Typhoon for small gang PvP (4 ships) in low sec...which one would you choose? And more important: why? Ignore skills here atm.
I know BSs are situational. Nevertheless I'd like play with that option. I just like the versatility some of the tier 1 BSs offer - indeed all except the Scorp imho. So why would you choose one of said ships?
Thanks for any insight. -

What will the other 3 ships in your fleet be?
If you're running 2 canes and an inty, I'd say a nano phoon with AC's. 1300 m/s is decent for a battleship, right?
If you're gonna set up a camp somewhere, maybe a neut domi? A nifty little trick if you're going to gate camp is to go about 30-50km off the gate and drop sentries, then assign them to your fast tackle on gate. And, you have your high slots available for neuts for anything bigger than frigs (ships that your sentries won't pop before they can get back to the gate.)
If you're not doing either of those, go for the geddon. But, instead of a geddon, I'd say Abaddon. Fit it with energy weapon rigs and you end up with a better tank, comparable dps for about the same price. 2 mil for rigs instead of 48 mil.

Dual Rep Blaster Domi, if you have T2 heavy drones.
Otherwise, Geddon for it's impressive range, damage and tank.

Geddon, you can always use more dps. Neut domi is a pretty good choice too however. I've never been a phoon fan.

Edited by: Syekuda on 25/08/2011 13:24:48 Cause I feel like a cheap bastard, I'll go with the domi.
1. Lots of different setups available because of its different type of bonuses that it gives.
2. Its cheap compared to other BS's so if you lose it, you won't lose much if you count the insurance.
You can make a remote rep setup if your in fleet with a blaster fit (hell with almost any fit). You could make a solo pvp fit which would work pretty well. You could use the neuting fit as well. Like I said, lots of them

the Typhoon can be a pretty mean ship if its using the neuting fit...imagine a small fleet of heavy neut's neuting a ship ... like this one here. But I use 4 neuts instead of 3. --------------------------------------------------

That makes it quite simple imho. Gheddon. Self reliant streight forward gun DPS. Under fire from gate guns forget about drones.
On second thought: If you plan to be anti-pirate, then all of them have their pros and cons. Domi and Phoon can be fitted as quite flexible logistic platforms.

Glass cannon Phoon, fit that beast out with PURE dps (rigs and lows as dps mods) and then get it some ogre IIs, torps or cruise, and some ACs and watch that beast pump out over 1300dps from 30k

One of each! Preferably each has at least one heavy Neut. --

Domi probably, cheap and effective and extremely versatile.

Depending on what the other 3 ships are. I agree with those that say neut domi, however a phoon with a couple of neuts on it would be good as well.
If the other 3 ships are providing plenty of DPS I'd lean towards the neut domi.
